I am so glad I paid for a game (CS and HL) that I can't play anymore cause of this gay ass Steam.... Im on 56k and I bought CS and HL just so I didnt have to go threw 1,000,000 hours of downloading to play. Now they make us have to download the games again (400mb), and then later on where gonna have to pay for this great thing they call Steam... I beleave I paid to play these games back when I bought them... hence they are now MINE, yet they still manage to fuck it up so I can't play... well guess what Valve? If I can't play CS or HL anymore cause of your brilliant idea of Steam I will sue your ass's, and I think we all should. Considering we (the ones who bought the games [CS,HL,DoD]) can no longer play them, if were on 56k, I beleave it says on the box that I paid for.... "online mutiplayer" ... well now that I can't play online (the reason I bought them) I consider that in a way false advertising.



Think about it... HL2 is coming out... Valve wants to make even MORE money off us.... so they rush this buggy Steam out on release... so it'll be out there for HL2's release. Yet they manage to screw it up so you can no longer host LAN parties either.... not to mention, how do they think this is all gone run in the future... everytime a release is out, there network will be swamped with people trying to update there games, so everytime there is a release you'll have to wait days even weeks before you can play again, if at all.



What was wrong with releasing the .exe's? Nuthing, you know why? cause people could download it and then host ot on there own site for people to get, so there were more and more mirrors for you to choose from, making updating your games easy. Whats wrong with WON servers? nuthing.... theres no reason to switch everything over to Steam. If it aint broke dont fix it.. or in this case if it aint broke don't fix it and screw it up even worse than it ever was.



I'm sorry but I beleave in when you pay for something that offers you something like "online mutiplayer" you should be able to use that feature, considering thats what you paid for.... it would be like if they started selling music CD's where you could only listen to the songs for ohhhh say a year, or some of the songs weren't even there.

Ev!l Ern!e, you can still play cs 1.5... I was just doing that a few minutes ago. They won't force you to use Steam until it works well.

its only gonna be a matter of time before there arnt very many 1.5 servers up anymore.... and besides that... everyone will be playing 1.6, like I should be able to do anyways, but because of Valve I can not.
