Well... I finally decided to try and configure everything over again. Finally got it how I wanted and ... after a long "Preparing to play Counter-Strike" wait I finally got into a game and played.



I'll have to say it is better! Glock is fun and the new guns are cool. Shield isn't interesting me... I don't like how everyone is using it :\ lol. Oh well. It's there for a reason I guess.



New maps are excellent although I haven't played airstrip yet Inferno is quite... good, but odd looking hehe. Cbble looks wonderful!



D/l the CS cache version of Steam for sure... I tried the 500kb way first and it froze up alot... Never finished, so I got the CS cache version and it still took awhile to get it all up and running but much quicker I would think :P

COME ON how long does this seriously take? how! i see other servers that have 16,. then all the sudden they are filled with 22, how come people can join if i cant? wtf? i wanna go cry.

i agree wiv u snake, i fink steam is pretty damn good but it has its bad moments (like this one). but wait a day or two and it will be sorted and slick to use, and u will love it. i know it is FUKING FRUSTRATING but its just fuked coz so many people r trying to sort it out at the same time. i got all my steam stuff installed in about 30 mins however once i tried to play it freezes on validating resources bit, but im sure it will eventually work and be a big hit wiv everyone. :)

BUT just wait in due time steam will be one of the greatest things ever to happen to cs...we will no longer have to wait months for a little bug or gamesplay issue to be fixed wit the release of a new patch



...new official maps instantly added....as well as weapons...and models and all kinds of shit...sure right now u may think wow what a fuckin mess..this is so unorganized and such...but just give it a little time cause i bet i becomes "Glorious"...just like BLUE

when i had the original steam release download, it didn't work, but at least steam would open. When i downloaded the newer steam release download with cs, steam won't even turn on. It just says that i couldn't connect to the steam server... does ne one else have the same problem? or if anyone knows how to fix this, it would be great.

Got everything dl (i think, the full steam w/cs cachefiles), got a account, opens steam main, open up games, double click cs, the dot go upanddown and never end. Ctl+Alt+Del out of steam, open it up to games, right click cs button, open properties, change the box to automatic update, close properties box, freeze, do everything over and still freeze. Maybe its the dll files or the actual program having a bug or something???

I can see that itll b good when everything is actually WORKING. The install seemed 2 go better than my friends but i still didint no wot the hell was going on - 'has it frozen up or wot?', 'is it mean to take this long?', etc. So i have 2 wait for 200 mins and i can deal with that but after my cs starvation it freezes up on validation! omfg why couldnt they just release 1.6 like all the other patches.

2 things....one it takes a long time on the validating thing...also...im putting people who say wiv on the long list of people i owe a punch in the face too

because this isnt a release of 1.6 dumbass this is a release of steam...it just happens to paly 1.6 BETA
