validation? dude i told you morons d/l steam...install d/l cache install play cs 1.6 beta.....its not hard...remember tho YOU NEED 1 GIG OF HARDDRRIVE FOR THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE A PRETTY DAMN GOOD ISP AND COMPUTER THIS WILL SUCK FOR YOU....seei have tons of ram gigs on harddrive and plenty of everything....but if you have a mediocre comp you might be screwed..THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT UPDATING (morons)

Well i just set my comp to 16-bit... its not doing anything...

omnicide dude if you have installed the cache try changing to 16 bit color likie monkie says cuz EVERYONE THE VALVE SERVERS FOR UPDATING EXPLODED....THANK YOU....listen just d/l the cache and install but even so if it dont work try the 16 bit color thing

look get steam install get cache install and then reboot comp....run steam...and play cs it has a pretty long load time as for use too

They need to change the "Games button" to "Choose a game and PREPARE IT FOREVER!" but seriously... the damn thing is delayed.. i cool with that... DL/Istall for like 2 days... yeah i waited longer for icecream at one point... but in the end to not work and people tell me to change my comp to 16.bit (and that doesnt work either.. lol i had my hopes up...)



all i can say is: Steam you have defeated me in combat... i will return for vengence... gg...

O.K. I have only 2 choices 16 and 24 im set at 16 and have been. TFC works, CS hangs at Validation.



Now for the big question.



Looking thru the Steam folder i noticed there is no folder for maps... is it going to our origincal CS/HL directory for that or what? Is this the problem??

If there are no maps in your games folder were maps normally are, it means you don't have them yet. Steam will try and dwonload them later. If your tyring to play and it is hanging up at some point it might be attempting to get missing files and it cerimonously locks due to the traffic steams getting. It should have copied the old files over however.
