Hell, its not a big deal really. Just do something else while you wait for steam that use up any bandwidth. Personally, I've got about a bajillion things in Baldurs Gate 2 I still need to get around to.



Honestly though, some of you guys actually act like you're SURPRISED at how fucking stupid this all is. I fully expected since the first day I heard about steam that it was going to result in utter havoc. What would anyone expect with such a wildly popular game?

omg I am installing steam right now and updating went from 57% to 35%. WTF IS GOING ON!!!

only took me about 20 minutes total. about 6 1/2 to dl the cs update

if its updating at anypoint your doing ok just let it be it took me 2hours

RMS does did it give a progress bar when u were dl_ing cs?

for me when I was updating cs it was stuck on 6:13 for 30 minutes but before that it was at 7:34 for like an hour

its been a very long time now its still just "Updating Steam Platform..." but i dont see a little bar telling me if i have any of it done or what its just kinda frozen there... is it waiting for something? will it move? will someone ever answer me? i mean come on you all got past this part but mine just sits there!!!!! what happens next?! why wont it update already?! does it even have a progress bar thingy?!

When I try to dl the cs update I keep getting "This game is not available. Please try again another time."

omnicide u can see the progress when u go with your mouse over the window but i think it takes ages because everyone is trying the same thing. i updated it twice then just restarted my pc, deleted 15gig from my hd (nothing from cs or steam) , defragmented my pc, restarted it and steam was alot smoother, still not what it should be though it freezes when i ask it to dl cs, ive started this steam thing six hours ago
