i try to update CS ... i already have the platform downloaded...and all it does is completely lock up...freezes...so im like damn and i tried some of the other things...dedicated server is like 12 MB so im like alright see if this works and it freezes again...only after like 30 seconds to a minute it unfreezes and apperantly i have the dedicated server installed...WTF?!?! there was no updating screenComment

I got the same problem and said F*** it and killed the Steam process. Thought that maybe explorer crashing had something to do with it (gg Microsoft), so I tried reinstalling and have never received that intro window as the first time I installed, which I found odd.
ok is it supposed to take 4 hours to cache your CS files into Steam?
cause if not then I my Steam froze up....

mine's been "Converting Half-Life files into steam cache..." for around an hour now, and it's not moving. Task Manager says it's running, but is it really doing anything? Is it supposed to take this fucking long?Comment

Just a few things me quite angry with:
1) Where did the bots go i was looking forward to a bit of 1 on 1 wiht these bots that were supposed to be awesome
2)The status page on steampowered.com shows unused servers yet i am always connected to the nvidia one which is maxed out!!
The idea and concept behind steam is brilliant gw valve BUT maybe you should learn from your mistakes next time!!! Steam in practice hasn't been all that marvelousComment
