I say we just do this. Get a machine that produces mass amounts of steam, back it up to the front doors of their headquarters/offices, open their doors, and point that bitch in the doors. Turn the thing on, and blow hot, sultry ass steam into their building.
That sounds like fun, but i don't see how it would help me get CS any faster. I live in near the Valve HQ so if you get a group of people together that want to do this let me know! :) lol

someone should skin steam, and post it on deviant art, that way you could get away from those crappy green and gray GUIs

I live on the east coast, so you'd have to give me a few days time to get there.

Wow. I have just spent the last half hour reading from page 5 up to this (I'm on that darn "preparing to play counter strike" thing and I have nothing better to do) and I just wanted to say that I am very disappointed with VALVe and the way that they released steam. Not so much that they couldn't muster enough bandwidth to support all of the hungry cs players because that's understandable but because they just threw this buggy program into our hands and then expected us to know how to use it. Not to mention that the tech support on steampowered.com doesn't explain anything. We've had to figure out how to use steam via trial and error and learning from other people's mistakes. I think that VALVe really screwed up this time. Just look at the last few pages of posts, The entire cs community is in turmoil for god sakes. Is there any way to send this message board to VALVe because a lot of people made some really good points that might make VALVe second guess themselves in the future?

Can you imagine my dismay, after updating for hours, when I finally tried to play on servers, I would freeze everytime at the "Checking Game Resources" part? Does anyone know why that is? Even Task Manager slows and I have to restart...

or kidnap their pets and send a ransom ? one good point is that the community is banding together without the help of steam to conquer all the errors and problems, thats what i call teamwork.

Wow, even Fileplanet Northwest is hurting bad, i'm only getting 50Kb/s, i usually get at 200Kb/s i'm dissappointed now its going to take 2 hours and 30 minutes to download the full steam instead of the no more then 30 minutes that i expected.
