It actually means Valve is a terrorist organization and that they are hoping Steam creates so much traffic that the internet breaks and and the whole world stops until the godly Valve fixes the internet and saves the world thus becoming the most respected and feared terrorist orgranization at the same time.

      j/k

i think he was referring to the actual server files. not the steam client.

i think they made it command line based to turn off a bunch of eager/clueless people from downloading it and running it just for the hell of it eating up all the content bandwith the server admins could be using.

Has anyone else checked out De_Cbble 1.6? I threw it in my CS 1.5 maps folder and ran around a lan game on it. Yes, I have no patience. I think I like it, although its not as nice looking as the updates to Inferno or Aztec, its still pretty cool.

Yeah, I got what was supposedly de_cbble from the server package. Messed around on it and found out you can actually jump onto the tall box at the far bombsite now (where in 1.5 cobble you'd have to get a boost up there). It's still kind of hard to get to, you have to be a good strafejumper.

lol, thats not good news for Valve if ppl are already playing the new de_cbble... I'm going to go play it myself :)

Interesting... It's downloading a file to the /dll/ directory called hl_amd64.so :) Looks like Valve has actually been doing something for the past few months :P

Yeah, i think valve are a bit stupid. they are guna lose lots of players from making 1.5 extinct. I dont think anything could ever beat 1.5 and 1.6 isnt guna do it either. Im guna get my server up to 1.6 when 1.5 dies so I can play as much as poss before its gone, plus more ppl will come to 1.5 servers for the mo. *sigh* this is a big disappointment from valve.

Can you please stop putting "tomorrow" etc.. It just gets confusing with the time zones, specifying the actual day would make things so much easier please :|

there is no actual date. the exact quote from VALVe is "In preparation for the full Steam client release tomorrow." They aren't winning any awards for information with this release. Just add 12 hours to the news post and take that as the date. Hint: the 11th
