I don't like it how when you buy the boxed version of HL2, you still have to pay for TF2 and CS2. I'm not made of money.

When HL2 comes out, i wonder if it would be possible for valve to convert the currently CS onto it until CS2 comes out. Weve read about it before, and how *easy* its supposed to be to do it. This would be great, because I can see a lot of people getting fed up with CS when HL2 takes up most of the scene :)
Btw mr t, You'd have to anyway, even if you bought it via steam (not the subscription one). CS2 and TF2 are totally different games, but I wouldn't expect them both to magically appear a few days after HL2, id give it a year or so.Comment

First off, this isn't costing you any more money. In a way it is actually saving you money for the moment. A single key from any current valve product gets you into all of them. That means you pay for CS or DOD or just reg HL and you get the expansions etc. Not alot but it isn't costing you jack.Comment

It seems to be a trend...they did the same thing with WC3 and frozen throne...sure its an expansion pack..but you still have to pay another 30- 40 bones just to get it and you need another cd key...fuckin a..but even if they sold hl2 cs2 etc. at $900000000...id still buy it...why..well because im a sucker...and im simple minded...........did i mention im half retarded...?

Are you mentally retarded? Its been in beta this whole time, and when they officially release it on Tuesday(or weds..), its going to be a different version then the beta. I would think the new version would have all those bug fixes. Its been a while since the last update, and they've had time to fix a lot of stuff I bet. They were fixing things pretty fast during the last few updates, anyway.
Aren't you suppose to fix the major bugs before making something go official?
Yeah.... I think so... so why in the hell is VALVe planning to make Steam go official when everytime they update CS, it crashes the Steam servers for 2 to 3 days?Comment

Dude... its happened since the first release of Steam back in February. Everytime Steam updates, Steam is down for 2 to 3 days. If they can't fix a bug in 7 months, what makes you think they'll fix it in 1 month? VALVe sucks at coding and being a fanboy to them is not the brightest thing.

Betas are suppose to iron out 90% of the major bugs, and then as it goes final, its suppose to take out a couple more. All VALVe has down is add crap and fix minor bugs, and haven't taken the time to look at this one bug.Comment

There were only two instances of an update screwing up Steam, and then it was only down for a couple of hours. The initial January release where the limited content servers got overloaded before the official time of release, leading them to pull the file from all official download locations, and I believe platform 14 or so that had some bugs out the door that forced them to revert to the previous version. All the other updates did not crash the entire Steam system.Comment
