When did I say that VALVe was short on money? I said that they're not making addtional money on cs anymore. You were crying about "promises not being delivered" in your previous post and now you're using the CZ delay to cry some more. There is a simple solution for your problem, you can either do something else rather than refreshing csnation every 7 seconds to get word on release dates or you can stop playing VALVe games all together and play other games. VALVe doesn't release shit because of how much you cry, they release games when they feel the title is finished and is ready to go gold. You are a moron by the way.

sounds great. my only problems are these:



how will it handle playing in lans without internet connections? you dont know how much it will suck at a major lan that doesnt have internet, when people show up with different release numbers of cs... (in other words, didnt update steam one last time before packing up their computers to come)



hopefully valve will release some kind of lan standardized server or something, so it forces everyone to use same version that is running on the lan game server.



secondly, last I played steam a month or so ago, I was still having problems with the game skipping due to new sounds being loaded/cached... I dont ever have that problem in the regular cs 1.5...

Erm, I thought CSX and CS:CZ were being based on 1.6? That'd make most sense seeing as they haven't even started on 1.7.

Hopefully the updates will be offered in both ways so you can use either on the same cs/hl install.



Steam is actually working very well (better than 1.5 for me - on 3 different computers) until it has to download something, and then you have to wait for 20+ minutes until you can play even single player.

Since it is becoming official and you should be able to play off-line I'm hoping that this will be a non-issue.

Also if the titles.txt file is available you can edit the gun names back to what they should be, if the retail names are used for 1.6 final.

I think he talks about Skins for the Steam GUI. custom cs sucks, it's lame. or not lame, but not profressional.
