Seth, that's because you use the crappy windows xp default skin. Trust me, find a replacement and regardless if steam works or not, you'll be much much happier.
I've been using Steam since it's quick 1 day release back several months ago and I have had zero problems, except for some kinda of lag while playing sometimes, maybe it's a ram prob... doubt it. afk to update my video card.Comment

Does DOD (day of defeat) work with steam?..I had DOD before STeAM, yet STeAM wont recognize it....I now have the latest version of DOD and still it wont show up in the STeAM menu.Comment

Alternatively you can get ADSL from BT or an affiliate (http://www.bt.com/broadband/) - BT is claiming 71% availability which sounds like bollocks to me, but still...
You should be able to get ISDN access anywhere, but I think it's pretty expensive as ADSL is favoured instead (http://www.surfanytime.net/New_packages...vices/128.htm).Comment
