That's not true, Xbox has a set free that covers every single online game. PS2 doesn't, but a lot of PS2 games might be free online (like SOCOM).



Right now, Xbox Live doesn't really interest me. And I don't fancy paying $100 in total just to play SOCOM, basically the only online PS2 launch title.

In my opinion, Xbox came out at just the worst time.



Most people (teenagers) that would consider playing the Xbox, probably already had a PS2, or other console, and just didn't have the money. In my opinion, if the Xbox had come out a year earlier than it did, it would be doing a lot better.

I love my Xbox, but I likely won't be playing Counter-Strike with it. I'd love to see what they do with it, though.



The last figures I heard from the past week or so, the Xbox was lagging slightly behind the GCN, but potential sales may bring it over the top (i.e. "what console do you plan to buy" surveys). I'm hardly worried about it being a doorstop or abandoned after two years like my beloved Dreamcast, nor about its lack of penetration outside of the US. (In fact, I'm pleasantly surprised that most of the core Japanese developers are still committed to Xbox support -- particularly Sega, being a DC refugee.) I think it'll simply continue to be relegated to moderately succesful also-ran status, like the N64 was to the PSX (possibly with more of a Neo-Geo-esque cult element).

i bought ps2, gba, and gcn on opening days for all of them.

i didnt buy xbox because i didnt like any of the games.

halo isnt that good of a game to justify spending 300 (200 now) on it

if csx is any good, ill buy an xbox. You cant bash a console until its entire lifespan is up and every game thats ever going to come out for it is released. THEN can you make a fair judgement.

My friends are weird. By silent agreement, if you don't have a date for homecoming, you try you best to not let the others get one. A favorite is a routine very similar to the oReiLLZ method of "snort, hehe, D&D, hehe" with the added effect of pushing up glasses every once in a while.



And I don't like stat-buying because all I get (I'm DM) is fighters with 18 strength, and 3 intelligence. *sigh*

I'm at the last cut for Xbox Live beta testing, and from what I've seen in the application process, this is looking to be pretty exciting. I'm tempted to think that Xbox Counter-Strike won't be all that fun, but playing Halo 2 online is gonna kickass, and so is playing a football game with a friend in another state, or country. I haven't seen the specifics for Sony's online plan, but the cool little nuances in the Xbox plan look like enough to keep me happy. Check out IGN Xbox's Xbox Live FAQ.

muhahaha xbox sucks! my friend got one on release date, and the only decent game is halo, and we all got tired of that. and face it, cs is best on a computer, whether u have a keyboard and mouse for xbox or not. 1 month after he got xbox, he already wished he got cube or ps2. besides we all know GTA 3 is one of the best console games ever, and the new one is coming soon!



by the way, they did have online play for the DC, but it sucked, it was so laggy games were unplayable, but with the new emergance of boradband, maybe th xbox will change that. but the bottom line is, whatever game is online for xbox is better suited for PC, with the possible exeption of sports games, and that's why people will never give up their PCs to play exclusively online with xbox. i dont think the new boradband for xbox will boost the sagging sales for microseoft simply because all of thier online titles are better suited for PC....but its a good experiment and hopefully wll work out

Seems that the debate over consoles&PCs is not over yet. In my opinion (which doesn't really matter), the Xbox is a PC with limited funtions. It will have a short life span. Then some genius would come along with a brand new console called "Cubic-box" or some dumb name again, everyone will be amazed, and gawk at the lame graphics and spend their ca$h on dumb games like "Mario : the gh3y plumber".
