And NOWON net servers, thats just freaking HILARIOUS, I would love to hear you explain how the "NOWON" servers are added to the master list while going around the WON network, man your great, even the ip you posted didn't work, what a joke you are. Those pictures, those demos, they don't have anything in them that would say they were made yesterday or two months ago, could've been done in 1.4, or even doctored images of before that, or they could just be fake to begin with, and the demos..... in an unsecure server, WHAT A JOKE

testing a cheat on a unsecure server wont tell you what VAC will do when you go on a secure server.. because VAC isnt on an insecure server.

As much as we may personally dislike cheaters, I don't see "do not: unethically ruin honest players' fun" as one of the rules here. So, until he starts breaking other rules, or rizzuh decides to ammend rules with new additions, we will continue to recognize that even cheaters are part of the CS community, albeit the scum of the group.



And garry, it's not wise to call others idiots when you yourself are the one misunderstanding them. So, for your sake, I'll rewrite what Exo meant in short, easy sentences with little words, so you'll be sure to understand.



Testing to see if your cheats work. This means seeing if your wall hack actually makes transparent walls, if your aimbot actually aims, etc, etc, etc. It's not about whether it's detected or banned or disabled or whatever, but rather simply if it does what you want it to do. For a wall hack, you can test this with your own listenserver, but to test an aimbot, you'll need bots or to play on an unsecure server.



Testing to see if your cheats are detected. This means seeing if VAC can catch them, after you've determined that they're supposedly functional as programs. This you would obviously have to do on a VAC server.

And as much as we may wish Mr. Brazil was a 12 year old, still able to repent, alas, he has mostly proper grammar and spelling, which, in the case that he might actually be from Brazil (though this is somewhat unlikely), is an even sadder commentary on the native English speakers among us, but regardless gives more evidence that he's an older player.



And you know, the comparison between cheaters and robbers was a good one. Some people are so without conscience, so selfish and evil in their heart that they are willing to do anything to others to get what they want. So yeah, Brazil here may win himself a few rounds of CS. Big deal, enjoy it (if it's really that great, having your computer aim for you) while it lasts, because there's not good things in your future. I take a sad comfort in knowing that in the end, all people who are so selfish like this will pay very dearly for their ways.

If the cheat works on an unsecure server, that means the cheat succesfully WORKS, as in you can see through walls, and you can lock-on to players. I didn't say it wouldn't be DETECTED, I said it would WORK.

You are right, things are not so simple. I did not say the right way because I do not want to spread this kind of info (forging cd-keys), but there are several half-life cd-key generators easily available on cheat-sites.

The keys generated are not good for online play, as WON-Authentic keys use a much more complex algorythim (encription).

Yet, there are several key-lists around. Those keys are not good for online play (global banned) but they do load CS.

The pictures and demos are legit, and made on vac-hlg server last week.

I really do not care if you believe it or not.

Of course anyone can hex-edit a demo or photoshop a picture. We all know that.

There is really no need to ban me. If a moderator thinks I´m breaking forum rules, just ask me to leave and I won´t post a message here again. I am 25 years old, I´m no child. If I was told to leave, I will leave in peace.

But I really think there is no reason to do so. I have read the rules and I try to follow them strictly:

Guidelines/rules - Do not:

I am not here to spread cheats. If I wanted to, it would not be in a non-cheat server.

Nobody has contacted me to ask cheats.

If someone want to become a cheater, just using a search engine such as Altavista or Google and typing "Counter-strike cheats" will be extremely effective in findind any of the hundreds of cheat pages that are easily available. Don´t be silly.

Thats because I got a life... I dont stay 24/7 in front of computer. If moderators were to ban someone, it would be people like the guy above, who, clearly, has broken the following rule:

As I said, Im 25 years old and I play since CS 1.0, about 2 years ago.

Times when we had the tank in Siege... and when the Scout needed 3 shots to kill. (I have noticed that it became stronger in CS 1.4).

Times when MP5 was much more accurate... when Terrorists were able to "use" hostages - and do things like the "Hostage jump" in Assault...

When we had a 90 second buy time and grenade flodding in Asault was a nice tatic...

When we could plant the bomb walking - and develop tatics from it...

When we had a bombsite in de_aztec that was never used (too hidden)...



Aahhh... good times they were...

That was a great article all around. I just have one question.. what does VAC exactly do? I run a server, ive seen it ban maybe one or two people ever, and it doesn't add them to the banned.cfg, I am just confused to hell and would like to know what and how VAC does what it supposedly does?

When you connect to a server, your half-life will download VAC module (about 30 kb).



Once downloaded, it will be executed, and will checksum HL process in memory to see if it has been hooked (injection of code into process). This is a generic procedure. Many different hooks can be detected this way.



Else, vac has cheat-specific routines to detect OPENGL passthru drivers. (fake OPENGL drivers that hook the real OPENGL32.DLL).

This routine is not generic, so VAC must KNOW an OPENGL cheat to be able to block it. New OPENGL cheats are never detected, but new CLIENT.DLL hooks may be.



OPENGL cheats can range from simple wallhacks to playr glowing and aimbots (auto-aim).



Once a cheat is detected, it will disconnect you from the server (although not ban you).



Thats it.. it works silently...
