CPL: Day 3 Semi-Finals

How would you know why he founded 3D? Did you read it in the same newspaper that reported falsely that KFC got sued into changing their name?



And, no, it's not arrogant. Almost all the clans at the CPL were founded specifically to "dominate." The rest of the clans have had line-up changes to accomplish the same thing.



IN OTHER WORDS, the teams are synthetic and there's nothing arrogant about it.

A lot of nationality bashing goes on in the HLTV chat (when it's not filled up with the same questions over, over, & over again) like you said...but most of them (the bashers) are idiots anyway that come in asking 'IS THIS LIVE????' (caps included) when one team only has two players and then think they are the shit for doing....something.



In summary, idiot comes in, asks dumb question, then bashes clans or whole continents for no reason, just to seem cool.



Then there is the people that come in and call everyone nerds for caring about and watching the CPL, and for some reason they think they are better, even though they are doing the same thing.

Yes... just like TV, I find running commentary by others on what I'm watching to be quite annoying. It's one thing when somebody OWNS another team, and you get a burst of laughing and "OMG" and such comments, but unfortunately you really just have to ignore all the chat messages if you want to enjoy the rounds at all, especially on servers that allow anybody watching to chat (as opposed to just those present at the CPL).



Dang, I sure wish we could hear voice com over HLTV... it would be so incredibly cool to hear teams coordinating attacks and such. Of course... I really don't know how much such things are used at LAN events like the CPL, being the ignorant n00b I am when it comes to eSports.



And as far as arrogance, what would you prefer Exo? Should 3D have said "our purpose in forming was to become a mediocre team that might make it to the CPL or might not, and if it did, probably wouldn't do that great." ??? Do not confuse ambition with arrogance, they are not the same thing. Really high goals are necessary if you want to even come close to the top, which they did, to a certain extent.



Sad to see them eliminated as early as they were, but so it goes. Perhaps they'll work on their game, and come back another year. Or maybe not. Love 'em or hate 'em, either way, it's been fun watching them develop as a team. There's my thoughts, anyway.

I read the irc log that everyone else did the day after 3D formed.

You're probably right about that, I just think it's pretty aroggant altogether. I bet Porter, and the others left behind on X3 felt pretty betrayed.

Maybe leagues in Europe should use the map

i was under the impression that the ever so loveable n@rbey made fire and mill specifically for cpl/cal and that other leagues were not authorized to use them.

about mill:



Sure, the euros have the time to practice it, BUT, they have to find a clan to pratice against. First we can leace out all clans not going to the cpl, that leaves us with about 6 clans, sk, esu, mtw, ies, gol and spacebar.



i dont think sk put so much time in practicing mill, because they did not have much time to prepare with their new team, and also I dont think they count on being knocked out so early and they same goes for nordic, borrowing 3 players from other clans.



So we have 4 clans left, mTw, GoL, spacebar and ies, GoL MIGHT out some effort in mill, beacause they have so much time and also a good teamplay already, however they prolly counted on making it so far into the winners bracket they don't have to play mill.



So four clans can practice against each other, and german connections being very poor, pinging 150-200 to norway/england of course reduces how much those praccs will give.



I myself thinks that using only original maps would be the best, but the CPL decides, and maybe the LAN-tournaments here in Sweden will start using mill aswell, and then it will spread down among the less good clans ant in the end everyone will play the map, just as it was with maxrounds that was brought to Europe after CPL winter.

Great tourney, shame I was expecting great things from 3D. Fantastic tournament for IeS, better than we did last year (9-12).



And for whoever was saying all these CPL clans are 'built for dominance', IeS has been around since beta 1!



Maybe finally the CPL will seed us better than 20th-ish!

I love how the CPL turns Europe and America agaisnt each other. "Euro clans own you yankees!" "We won World war to for you, fucker!" "SHut up!" "You fagg0t!!1" Anyway, can't see the demos, my version of GeekPlay is fucked and I'm too lazy to download it again.
