But, still, even if it was available for the European clans to practice on, that's not enough. No doubt they did spend a significant amount of time practising the map, but you can't expect playing and getting to grips with a map a few times with your team-mates to ever compare to the amount of exposure many of the American clans have had with it.
Playing a map that is the offical CAL map, freely avaible on the net, and stated months in advance that it would be in the tourney is not fair?
Even if they did have a couple of months in advance to learn the map, that's not very long at all, compared to the amount of time American clans have been regularly playing it.
It's obvious that de_clan1_mill is a well-known map judging from what I've heard here, but I hadn't even heard of de_clan1_mill until now...Comment

I agree, but that's a differnet issue.
Maybe leagues in Europe should use the map
I don't want to get bogged down in this -- at the end of the day, fairly or unfairly, mTw and Spacebar were outplayed, and that's that.
It just strikes me as being common sense to use maps the majority of, if not all, teams are guaranteed to be 100% familiar with.
Like the official maps.Comment

What the hell? Yes, they're European, and yes they are "less familiar" with de_clan1_mill, but they knew they'd have to play that map and they have had months of preparation. Regardless of the league play experience that clans from the US get, it shouldn't matter. European clans had plenty of preparation time.Comment

...that winner will face off against the champion of the losers bracket.
I think the Loser of the Upper Bracket finals plays the champ of the Lowers then the winner of that match plays the Champ of the Uppers, in which the winner of the loser has two beat them in two matches and the winner of the upper only needs to win one.Comment

While watching the DoP vs. mTw match, I was totally blown by how much nationalist discrimation there was. Usually it's a joke. But during that match, shots were flying in HLTV chat when Euros and Americans were screaming (okay typing) how this side of the Atlantic is better than the other etc.....
Then there was this guy who kept spamming the chat with "mTw ownz DoP on a normal map, clan_mill is biased and was made in a day." Umm doesn't it say that Barney spent weeks on it to make it fair for both sides? And wasn't this map a frickin CPL qualifier map for the Winter competition last year?!?! WTF??
If you're going to compete in the CPL, and the CPL tells you that clan_mill is being played, and you don't even bother to practice on it, then what? You saw what happened with 3d on cobble (easily their worst map). I was so pissed that people just couldn't take it. It's a game. Get over it.
That being said..... SK vs. TSO was awesome. All hail Potti! Amazing as CT. And gg TSO. I thought TSO was gonna win it, but I was rooting for SK. GG ALL.Comment

..Did that not make any sense to anyone else?

BTW... addition. Infinity-eSports beat TAU on clan_mill and I think i-eS is British, am I right? I saw some amazing skill and strategy on that map when i-eS was both T and CT, specially T and the crucial box boosting. So stop screaming bout how Euros didn't have time to prep or didn't know. i-eS did perfectly well on clan_mill.
xep, there are 3 final matches. The upper bracket final, lower bracket final, and CPL Final. The upper bracket final will be between SK.sca and esu (Nordic). The lower bracket final is between.... undecided right now. So if esu loses, then they play the top clan in the lower bracket. Whoever wins the Nordic vs. lower bracket thing goes to the CPL Final with SK. In the CPL Final, two games are played. SK only has to win one of the two and the lower bracket clan has to win both.
Hope that made sense. And I used SK as the victor over esu but we don't know yet, so it's hypothetical.Comment
