CS 1.5 Released

I paid for cs and was able to play, and if u have to use steam, i want my money back.

can you fucking read? only the beta version of STEAM was when you had to download the entire thing, and that was why it was marked *broadband only*. the release version you will only have to download small updates every so often, and i'm guessing they're only going to be a couple 100 KB at most (unless a new map is released or something). i'm on dial-up myself and i'm all for STEAM.

ok, im sorry i live in the middle of nowhere and can not connect at anything faster than 26.4(not 28.8, shit i wish i could connect that fast......) , but what would this do when some people at a lan have 1.5 and others have steam bullshit?

btw, 1.5 is not cheat-proof. I live in taiwan, and i play on taiwan servers. Some faggot cheater was obviously using aimbots, wallhacks, and flash grenade pervention crap. He went like 30-0 on friggin dust2 and not to mention when you observe him, he shoots through random walls and gets headshots. that's bullllshit. I think valve needs to do a better job for cheat-preventions. btw jivvila, 26.4? you sure it ain't a 28.8? I never friggin even heard of a 26.4 and i've been working with modems and shit for quite some time. Oh yeah, i have adsl and it still took me like 1 hour to download all the new crap. dammit. I usually average like 40 for my ping also....doh..

Man, I'm never going to be able to play CS and find out why a lot of people have played it for so long. No solution to "Couldn't complete connection attempt" huh? Ah well, going to have to return the game and get my money back.



BTW, I'm not the only one experiencing this problem and it's not only retail people for anyone who's wondering.

I have been to probably 3 sites that say August 14, 2 that say August 28, 1 that says October 13, and in March one said April 30....AND IT'S JUNE 13!!! I also get the Error! Server verification failed after I installed 1.5. I have never seen this error before and I play almost every night. I have XP, but it worked fine on 1.4. Please help! I see this error on every server I try to connect to.

I dont know if this is 1.5 related but a day before 1.5 came out my ping went to hell. ok so its not that bad at first site less then 100 most of the time but whenever I get into the thickit of action strange things happen. like an advanced form of lag that works in tangen with my comp to either help or(mostly the or) hurt me. Ok so I am about to shoot the shit out of this guy when my ping spikes and this glitch happens(where I sort of warp back a half second or so like I never moved).when I finaly come to grips with what happend its too late. Sometimes on the rare (when the glitch helps me)ocasion I will actualy die see my body hit the ground then in a fraction of a second come back to life in time to see my bullets percing the hide of some poor soul.Bad spelling aside does anyone have an explanation for this or has anyone ever experenced this?(its very fast like quick spikes of lag only you can actualy die and come back to life or run fourty feet kill someone then warp back fourty feet and the victem is still died)
