man, the physics in hl are so crappy
jump on a moving object to see what I mean
also, I don't know if you live in a land where the rules of physics have been magically suspended, but you do not, and cannot come to a full stop from a jump. It's stupid, it's not fun and it ultimately detracts from the game
oh, as for pistol accuracies.. the reason why clans hate jumping pistol accuracies is because winning a save round is next to impossible nowComment

oh yes, and finally, the reason why so many people like jumping accuracy being so high is because you could get shot a bit, then jump, the the hitboxes would get all fucked up and you could spin around and kill them.
Frankly I like having mildly reduced air accuracy.. however.. I really wish they'd restore pistol air accuracy a bit. I find that in 1.4 it's easier for the winning team to keep winning, and it's hard to break out of a losing streak, pistol accuracies contributing significantly to this imbalance.Comment

"Tends" is incorrect. An object in motion, on this planet, invariably NEVER stays in motion. Gravity makes friction, friction resists movement. Learn what Newton's laws deal with before you quote them.

On the landing, it is impossible for you to have the momentum that you had when you started the jump, you, without a doubt, always lose momentum because some of it goes into the ground. Your movement is converted into [gravitational] potential energy while you're in the air. On the way down/the landing, that potential energy is spent on compression, thermal exchange, and even wind resistance.
In other words: You have no where near your original velocity when you land compared to when you jumped.
That is the physics side. Imagine landing from a four foot drop with 20+ pounds of equipment. Your body would need time to recover from the strain and balance itself.solace wrote..
You are incorrect. It depends on the jump (the momentum before the jump), but earth has such a large mass that it can and does stop objects even with a momentum parallel to itself. It also has gravity which causes a strong pull downward, which also slows down movement. This, in turn, causes kinetic energy (movement) to point somewhere between the ground and the air in front of you, not parallel to the ground.

Funny those numbers haven't changed much on the poll since the 1st poll like rizzuh predicted. Maybe people aren't just going to adapt.

Let me be the first to say that this physics rationale or lack of it is no reason to keep or remove CS 1.4's jumping. The reason to keep it like CS 1.4, in my opinion. is because CS is no longer such a hop fest, where duck-jumping with a USP is more viable than walking with an MP5. I just think it's stupid that a few people dislike CS 1.4 and they got their PhD's in physics, or at least claim to.Comment

you call jumping then being slowed down drasticly realistic??
if they dont change jumping or walking they should atleast change the headshot boxes back to the way they were before.Comment
