Sorry, I just found it funny and had to quote it.
ALL OF U ARE NEWBS. THEY KEEP FUCKING UP CS MORE AND MORE.. THEY DONT NEED ANY NEW SHITTY GUNS OR MODELS, JUST FIX THE FUCKING WALKING AND MAYBE THE JUMPING. GO PLAY ON HOMELAN U NEWBS.
I would provide some sort of rebuttal on the behalf of CS, but I doubt it's really necessary.
Now I'll go back to playing CS, walking straight into walls, asking how to buy big guns, demanding instructions on how to change my name, bugging people about the 'console' and killing people on my own team like a 'NEWB' should.Added @ [time="1022694611"]Barrid wrote..
If CS suddenly turned into a cowboys and 'native americans' FPS, maybe the '2.0' title would be appropriate, but it isn't. CS is still the same game, and has evolved slowly. It hasn't had huge changes. Certainly not enough to warrant a huge version change. It's not the game it was in BETA 1, but its slowly transformed.
As for 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6...why are these listed as being the same game?
Why not 2.0 and 2.01 and 2.2?? The gameplay hasn't been affected by any update this much since the BETAS. Its no longer the same game despite what you "anti-whiners" say. Think about it. Its got the same window dressing but noone plays even similarly to how they did before...anyone who says differently is a camper or a liar.Comment

All I'm saying is that it's a little soon for 1.5 to be released. A descent "timeframe" is up for debate. As for 1.4 being "broken"... well... if you think so... But it seems the rest of the community (including us "pussies" who compete in the CAL and CPL) still play CS 1.4 without much of a problem. (I also remember CAL and CPL adopting the new 1.4 version and not the "broken" 1.3 version.) I'd also like to say that I may be overreacting... 1.5 may not be as big of a change as I originally thought. And if it does fix some of the minor bugs, then I'm all for it being released in late June. I just don't want them tweaking with accuracy and game play dynamics so we all have to re-learn CS once again, THIS soon.
After watching Valve drag their feet on every possible update, the chance of having a patch come out in a decent timeframe is a PROBLEM? The hell is the matter with you? So what, we're supposed to live with things that are broken because of the CPL/CAL pussies might act like babies adjusting to whatever might be changed again? I don't think there's a font big enough to properly express FUCK YOU.Comment

CS and Rainbow 6 are both counter-terrorist reality based FPS's. Very similar infact. But no one here dares to put them in the same category. Shame on you. The point is that CS is now a retail game, not in the betas. You want major changes? That is why CS2 is being made. Why doesn't Valve push for these changes in CS2 instead of shoving them down our throat now? Did you see any major gameplay changes that compare to walking and jumping and accuracies when CS went retail until now? It was fine to make these kind of changes when CS was still in beta stages. That is why it was called beta instead of version. Version implies the overall product is in a finished state and will not have any major changes to the overall product. Perhaps if Valve wanted to test the changes on a large volume of people for CS2, they should have kept these changes to the steam beta only. These are the consequences of going retail.
Barrid: a salmon and a goldfish are both fish, they are categorized as such.Comment

Riiiight. The entire community just jumped right into playing 1.4 quietly, didn't they? If you call that "without much of a problem", then that pretty much explains your position.

The fact is, the weapons still don't make a whole lot of sense. You'd rather keep it so the weapons defy the laws of physics (thus causing BS at regular intervals) instead of having them tweaked for less S&P behavior just so you don't have to "bother" with re-learning them? No one knows what's going to be in 1.5 and my faith in CS isn't great enough to believe that it'd happen, but that's how you'd rather have it given the choice?

Yeah, but that physics problem has been around FOREVER. I read the SummerBlue report, so I know exactly what you are talking about. There is too much luck involved as it is right now. But I really doubt they are going to fix it with the next patch coming out so soon. In fact, I'd like to see the old bullet physics go away as well, but that seems like a problem they'd have to work on for awhile.
And I didn't say the whole community went quietly with the last version, but I don't see much complaining a month later.Comment

Yes, a goldfish and a Salmon are both fish, but I don't eat goldfish.
CS 1.4 turned into a n00b snoozefest of the same proportions of DoD.
Running and jumping are nerfed, might as well finally ditch the AWP because even when you COULD evade, people didn't like it. Now you're a sitting duck for anyone with half the skill of a decent sniper.
The changes instituted in 1.4 were BETA-like. The gameplay was altered so drastically that it is IN FACT a different game than 1.1. Don't deny the fact that the game is rediculously slow, jumping and running are gone. Walking is for people with the patience of a corpse. Hitboxes still suck, but now that we're slow its worse. And finally...wtf is up with the guns? Mp5 is NOT a sniper rifle fellas.Comment

Oh, there's still plenty of kicking and screaming going on. Just because it's slightly quieter now doesn't subtract from the mass of illogical bitching that went on before.

Again, i doubt that they'd fix it with the next patch too. But, i also don't really care if it's something that would span several patches to fix and "get used to" as long as it's actively being worked on. I played through every beta dealing with the changes with the hope of a better game and so did the clans back then. It shouldn't be that much of a shock to do it again now.
Still, the idea is that any change should be welcomed, or at least somewhat encouraged at this point considering how screwed up CS still is. Kick Valve/Goose when they blatantly fuck up, not when they finally start to show a slight glimmer of improving.
Think about it. One of the biggest complaints is that Valve takes forever to do anything. Now, there's a chance that a patch might come quickly to a game and mod that obviously need it, and someone questions them for THAT. What the hell?
Barrid:
Shut it. Walking is for those who have the patience to WIN. CS has never been a balls out speed game, and infact has been the alternative to that. Everyone with a clue KNEW that coming in. You're either in the wrong game or you're a fucking 1.0 newb. Pick one. There aren't many other options.Comment

I wish v1.5 will have a new weapon for the counter-terrorists only: the ballistic shield.
And FLeK0 wrote..
Naw, that will be in 1.6/CZ.
I ask..
You mean they will have the ballistic shield on regular CS in 1.6 or you mean in the condition zero multiplayer game?Comment
