dont fret fellas, this is more of a patch to fix stuff - that new/semi new pransi map or whatever is just in there to give it the feel of a new update. and goddamnit, make comrade official

You can either play CS:CZ or CS Regular. No LAWS in CS Regular...

1.5 is not yet CS:CZ, so no, the LAW is not yet included. As soon as CS:CZ is being released by VALVe [everything looks like it will be version 1.6, to be released omewhen between mid-august and late october], they will include more&more stuff of CS:CZ into the *classic* CS.



Overview [ correct me if there`s s.th. wrong about it. ]



CS 1.5 (somewhen late June / early July)

- Will include VALVe AC v2 (=> likely to actually BAN WonIDs and take counter-measures against Cheats, the current AC isnt really doing anything but collecting information.)

- de_piranesi (the map most of the steam users actually know)

- Some Animation Technology update to the engine / SDK

- ... fixes / tweaks, so perhaps the 1.4 whinies will eventually get their walk / jump back :P



CS 1.6 (somewhen between August / Octobre, most likely before CS:CZ is being rlsed)

- Technology Update and most of the CS:CZ stuff

- Introduce Steam as final solution, no more single file updates (gl 56kers ;/ )

- after that rls, introducing the new CS:CZ guns through Steam, 2 at a time, and adding missing content

- after that / at that time rlsing CS:CZ



ok just another note for those ever dumb-ass questions:



- No, after 1.6 you will NOT be able to play without Steam

- Yes, you still can stick to the <classic> CS, Server Admins will get to chose what version of it they want to run

- Yes, you will be able to play online with people that bought CS:CZ without paying a single cent, you will miss the CS:CZ SP and some GFX addons tho.

- No the LAW doesnt shoot more than one rocket, and it doesnt blow the whole lvl

Why oh why are they calling this CS 1.5? Shouldn't it be like CS 1.41 or something? If all it is is fixes and tweaks what's the point of calling it 1.5? This is Valve's little way of saying we fucked up, have another update.

Valve probably wouldn't accept it even without paying. It's not Valve's job, it's honestly the CS team's. And please don't flame narby for wanting money for his maps, it's his profession.

Good maps are what CS needs if the community chooses to disdain from unofficial maps.

I don't want/need any money for the map in cs, and i'm pretty sure valve don't need to buy the maps rights to include them in these new versions (since they're not additional retail addons on a cd)

I want to emphasise money is NOT the issue here, i've never expected anything in return for having a map in cs, quite the opposite.

I'm just a little miffed we went through all this and was told the map was in but no doesnt seem to be.



If it's not in, it's not in. Thats the way it goes.
