WoW! McClane and Ghengis both shared the same experiences with me. I bought the MDO and extensively tested it out in-game. Although I like the MDO feels and looks, no one has mentioned that the MDO is heavier than single optical mouse. In CS, for most players used to the single optical mouse, you would notice a "drag" the MDO has. In my case, I had to double the sensitivity on the MDO to achieve a relatively same feels to my logitech optical (single). After 20+ hours of playing, I return the MDO and trade it in for a MS explorer 3.0. This baby is just plain light and smooth on my Ratpadz! For all of those using a light mouse, I recommend the MS explorer over the MDO.

I've owned it. Mostly hype. It's good for a ball mouse, but it's about the same as my current mouse (see above). I also broke the mouse eventually, like a lot of other former Boomslang owners.

I use a Logitech Cordless MouseMan Wheel USB generously donated by one of my best friends (four button)... I unknowingly installed MouseWare, and was quite upset to find that mouse3 brought up a cursor on top of my HL and caused my mouse to cease to function until I clicked again, and mouse4 simply fired my weapon. (Configured for double click)



After a bit of experimenting, I discovered that there's an option in MouseWare to set a button to "Middle button"...duh. Well, mouse3 problem solved. I still can't get mouse4 working, but the friend who gave me the mouse uses the same thing, and claims that setting a button to "Internet back command" makes it work as mouse4 in HL. He's in XP, I'm in 98. I just thought I'd share. :)

I just have a basic ball mouse, and it works fine with me. I just have to clean it occasionally, but nothing big.



On the subject of binds, I have mouse3 bound to +voicerecord so I can speak easy.

I just went out and bought the MDO because of this review. I had an MS Optical (the one right below the explorer, forgot teh name) and had issues with moving the mouse to fast. MDO solved this problem, now all I have to do is get used to its feel.....

yeah anyway since when are these dual optical mice new? my dads had one for about a year and a half and I got one when I bought my own comp. I have that same mouse thats on the picture and it was only about 40 bucks canadian(0.53$ U.S. currency)

I simply prefer the way the MDO design and feel -- compared to Microsoft's optical mice. That's not going to suit everyone, of course, just as different cars suit different people...



Personally, I don't find the MDO too heavy -- I have used much heavier (and unwieldy) mice before so I really didn't find weight a big issue.

That mouse was extemely light. After using it for about 2 years, the MDO just feel too heavy. Not to mention it just wasn't smooth on my mouse pad when compared to my old logitech and my current explorer.

Hmmm.... the last mouse I had was a $8 basic ball mouse that I picked up at Wallmart. That lasted me for about a year and then my cousin's gave me their old mouse from their original compaq computer. I have no idea how old it is, but I can kill with the best of them with this thing! I like ball mice and as long as you keep them clean, they're plenty accurate and I can do quick 180's way more predictably with this baby than any fancy optical. :oP

I´ve got the single optical version of this mouse. I got the Cordless Desktop Optical pack and the keyboard rocks, but i can´t use the mouse to play CS because i can´t aim properly with it. Instead i use a 5$ ball mouse......



Well, i think i figured out why the optical mouse sucks. I have an old and rough mousepad and i´m guessing that the optical sensor is.....uh....sensitive to the surface and thats why it jumps and does crazy things when playing a fast game of CS. Correct me if i´m wrong and please give me tips on using an optical mouse ´cause i want to use mine....it´s sooo good lookin´ :)

dude, this MDO mouse owns so hardcore. I used to own at CS but now I get the most BS shots like everytime. It moves so smoothly compared to my MS optical mouse. Earlier today I was playing CS and some guy shot me from behind in the leg with an AWP and I immidiately spun around and HS him first bullet with my m4. crying ensued. For everyone that thinks ball mice can compete you are dead wrong. Nothing can compare to the l337ness that is dual optical. Now if only this mouse fit my palm like the MS one did :\ Guess I just have to get used to it.
