You betcha. After that severe tongue-lashing, I think it's safe to say that no complainers will ever show their faces 'round these parts again.
Nicely put Member. I think that just sloved the complaining and bitching problem about Steam and the rest of the game on it lol. Good Job :-D
Sigh...Comment

Lasting over the 5 years mark they are doing better then just great.
The original build of CS must be doing great then.
[Edit] Right now I'm going to stick with CS1.6. Don't get me wrong I like the ported CS to the Source. Just never though I would like a ported game. I'm sure I will come back after the BETA.
I really just waiting for CS2. Maybe a long wait, what 2 years or so. Then CS1.6 will die out when CS2 comes out for sure.Comment

I really ponder what direction cs2 will take? As far I can see, there are 2 main groups of MP gaming
a) smaller, squad based titles (ala CS, RVS, SoF2, etc etc)
b) large, multi-squad titles (ala BF series, Tribes2, etc)
Personally, I go for the smaller games for their intimacy and greater freedoms with netcode / server resources. But I'm really curious as to what goosey has up his sleeve for CS2 -- esp since TF2 seems to be grounded more in reality than TFC?Comment

I'd say that the smaller type games are more suited to the theme of CS...yet we seem to be moving away from that already, so it's hard to say what will happen. I'm hoping for some sort of single-player game in addition to multiplayer, personally - hopefully AI should be advanced enough by then that you'd be able to give orders to an entire squad by yourself.

Why do people lie?
you're way better off than me :P, and probably a bunch of others here too.
i used to play on a pentium 2 mmx 200 mhz with a voodoo card, right up until steam came about, after steam it just wouldn't cut it anymore
Man... first: there is no "pentium 2 mmx 200". Pentium 2 clocks start at 233 MHz. And no Pentium 2 is called Pentium 2 mmx, because ALL intel processors that came after Pentium´s MMX have the MMX instruction set.
So I must believe you were talking about a Pentium MMX 200MHz. I had an old Pentium 233 MMX coupled with a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP and tried to play CS (1.5) on it. Unplayable. Frame rates of 25/30 with no ppl on screen, when someone showed up the fps would go down to 3-5 fps (maximum).
Stop bitching, please, no one needs it.Comment

XD, I was about to flame you until I realized you solved my silly little problem(see screenshot---copy & paste the url to make it work).
Okay people. Getting sprays working is really freaking easy, for those that don't know.
Go to the directory steam/steamapps/(your email)/counter-strike source beta/cstrike/, and create a directory named "downloads". That's it!

multiplayer is a lot harder on your computer than single is. if you have heard of anybody trying to play doom3 online, its unplayable even on the beefiest machines...
The video stress test said I had about 56 or 57 FPS, and yet in game, I get anywhere from 15 to 50.Comment

Speaking of the stress test... my average framerate on that was reported as 80 FPS. I'm running on a Geforce 2 Ti.
Okay, no, it's not what you think. My card doesn't support many DX8/DX9 features, so all the bump mapping, reflective textures, and fancy shadows and lighting and such don't even show up. :PComment

Thats not true... In Singleplayer, your machine has to render draw and animate EVERYTHING... In Multi your machine cares about you and the environment... everything else is dependednt on your internet connection speed.

AEUHEAUAEHAEU... so we don't need to upgrade our pc's, any pentium 200 mmx (as someone said) will do it coupled with a T1 or T3.
