I've played it for about a month now and it's decent. I don't like the changes and the changes didn't need to be made, but I'll still play it. I just don't understand changing the game constantly, settle already. The game is still fine, I love the spec modes(they didn't get old on me for a few weeks), but the running and gunning acuracy is what bothers me. Jumping and the glitch walking I could care less about, it is the inability to strafe and fire acurate shots(I just want aiming similiar to 1.3, at least fix the pistols, sure sniping with deagle is nice but I liked it's old aim.

#1 I hate 1.4....

#2 for all the people that said that 1.4 doesn't changed to jumpin in crates your wrong....go play some italy on ct side and try to jump in the window as fast as you could in 1.3...all the strats are changed in 1.4 everybody will have to adapt to the gay game speed. Everymap strat will change for people that have been playing for over 2 years like myself it is NOT easy to adapt to new gameplay speed and strat at the same time. Ts team has a huge advantage in 1.4...all they have to do is rush as a team...1.4 I'm sure it rox for matches...but in pubs it blows...and u can't just play for fun anymore cs been turned into a money game. Since the team effort is bigger it will bring more competitivity ...and more tournaments will come...Plz give my favorite game back...

Couldn't agree more buddy :) I like the new changes, I'm getting used to it all and so is my clan, everything is just fine with the exception of the server side stuff that neds to be fixed and will be fixed. Me=happy.

Seriously, make it where a person can jump like 3 or 4 times before slowing down. Keep the innacuracy that is fine when jumping, it is unrealistic to be able to jump around repeatedly. However, it is not unrealistic to jump 3 or 4 times, I know I could do it if I was getting shot at. Leave all the innacuracies whatever, obviously we will lose something. But return to normal walk, and let me jump a few times and then the game would be close to perfect. Obviously, it is unrealistic to jump repeatedly even though I used to do in 1.3. I am not one of the people that would quit playing cs over this, because no matter how bad they screw it up it is still better than all games out there. I think they need to meet some kind of medium because it seems to be pretty split.



Also to all the people who say stop whining. No, somes of us were really good at a game after learning how to play it, and now it has all been changed. This forum is open for this, if you do not like the posts do not read them. When I read the people's post who support it, at least I see the validity of and respect their opinion. You all like 1.4 cause it is your game, and before you were whining about the bunny hopping. Now it's gone completely, and now we are trying to retaliate. What's the difference between "whining" about bunny hopping, and "whining" about not having bunny hopping?



Lastly, I hate to break this to you all, but this game can never be totally real and totally based off of teamwork, because it public servers and people want to do their own thing. I say keep the debate going, and if you do not like the people who post for 1.4 or the people who post against it, than do not read. We do not need people to tell us to stop talking about, if we feel the need to express our opinion.

Sorry, I just really enjoy seeing people get so wound up about a game, even if it is this popular.



COME ON GUYS, at least you can still play it knowing that its 95% like the previous version. You're acting like it's been totally changed like Quake 2 was from Quake 1... these are changes that you'll eventually get used to. CS updates aren't about making the game more difficult or easier for anyone, but instead to help put everyone on the same playing field, where skill (err, and ping and computer specs) determines the winning team.

1) Jumpcrounch

2) Hold down crouch when you land so you land kneeling

3) immediately let go of crouch as soon as your feet hit the ground and move forward at normal speed lol!!!!

I doubt your experience in this area is very big. Usually I think your arguments are pretty well, but this is just stupid. It's unrealistic to be able to jump once that high wearing 20+ pounds of great. Duck jumping is not even close to being possible in real life.



If you were shot once, you'd be on the ground. Not in the air. Even you have to accept that.



Realism is not going to help your case, duder :)

First of all Crazynewbie douchebag. Of course you are gonna like it, i mean cs 1.4 is a paradise for newbies. I mean, all ya gots to do is come out wit a pistol and spray and its gonna hit someone. But for poeple such as myslef who haev been playin cs for a long time, its horrible.



Second of all, i played it for 5 hours. Do not mistake it for 5 minutes. So indeed you are puttin words in my mouth like your putting sandwiiches in yo mouth. Capiche?

Here are the simple facts:



- Valve changed some things (namely jumping and no speed walking) that change gameplay.

- These changes are not as significant as changes we have experienced over the beta years of CS

- People will have to adjust, but it is the same for everyone.



As I see it from playing 1.4 now, the game is essentially still the same, in fact I find the gameplay changes minor. They aren't nearly as signficant as people hyped them to be.



Every player has some respectable choices as I see them:

- adjust, like you have to for every new version of CS

- quit the game and try something else



The other option is to complain about it, but it won't do you or anyone any good. [sarcasm]You can email valve if you want explaining you do not like the changes, but I seriously doubt they will release a new version accomodating you.[/sarcasm]



I personally applaud valve. They felt this game should be a certain way and they went about making changes to further that. They didn't bow to newbies as some are saying, they held true to how they felt this game should be. I am happy that they did not back down to the people who fear change. Change is great for CS, and I used to love having so much change back in the beta days. I don't understand why so many people are against it. Adjusting to new versions of CS should be customary for "non-newb" players.



That is just my $0.02... I am not ragging on people for complaining, it happens all the time, just see the bigger picture of things though.

Actually, duck jumping is possible, you jump and bring your knees up to your chest....duh!



And yeah i wouldnt duck jump though..youd freaking lie down! if you want to be realistic then add a prone. They dont as it comes down to it. CS IS DEATHMATCH IN TEAMS!
