What was the idea behind slowing walking? I dont understand WHAT the hell Valve was thinking. And the game does NOT require better aiming now; if anything, it requires LESS. Open up with an AK, you'll see what I mean.

Well i do have to agree with decidence (even though he was caught cheating multiple times) that yes it takes skill to play the game now (and iv been playing since day 1), and I see it too, all the damn fool who used to own suck ass now, they cant kill shit why? cause they cant bunny hop and those are the ones bitching :)

First of all, there were many changes that majorly affected CS's gameplay

First thing I remember is

Gun running - now you actually have to buy weapons =\

Gun ammo reduction - P90 whores = no more.. well almost no more..

Acceleration - slower acceleration

blacked out outer part of zoomed sniper rifles - can have a better view of the surrounding

the inflating crosshair - Rogue Spear



Even after all these changes, throughout CS's stages from beta to version, people got used to them, people especially flamed the slower acceleration, now they don't care anymore, they got used to it. Why waste all your time flaming about the slower walking, jumping, blah blah blah when you still play 24/7. If you don't like it, just delete CS and never play it again. You guys gave it less than a week before you guys started flaming with immature comments about CS. Just remember CS is a free game (to most of you) don't be whining about a game you got for free. It seems like all the "noobs " and "fags" are the people that are whining about this. Give it this game another month and if you can't adjust to the gameplay by then, go buy your self another game or if you want to voice your opinions, do it in a mature way. Whining and cussing will not back up your support.

Well today, i played 6 hrs of cs1.4 at the cafe (fuckin slow ass home comp doesnt work with HL anymore for now, need new comp soon anyways).



I must say, the game is quite different. I kind of consider myself a pr0 player. Now, if anyone of u can remeber that video of "pendezcat" the french cs player, u were probably all pretty amused by his HS skills and what not. My style of play (and ownage) used to be at that level (maybe even higher) back in 1.3.



My complaint with 1.4 are 3 general things, the first jump should not be nerfed as it is now. the aim during the jump is fine.



Pistols/ some other guns need MUCH better accuracy while moving/strafing. The damn deagle now requires u to stop for a split second before shooting now. This is totally not fun, and can only limit CS true potential.



Lastly, the walking is WAY TOO SLOW. whats the point of walking anyways? Isnt running and crouching a better option now?



I know that many of u will say "well fuck u, dont play cs anymore if u dont like 1.4". Im just stating my opinions, as an hardcore fan of CS. I just feel that 1.4 is too slow, too random, and much too limited.

Ever since beta3, this has been the sort of welcome I've seen every new version receive - come two months from now, if you haven't slit your wrists, you'll be back in your underwear playing CS wondering why you even bothered trying to get everyone to delete their favourite game.

Where as i like 1.4, i PREFERRED 1.3.

IMO 1.4 is no-where near as rewarding as 1.3, fun wise or skill wise.

Yes i still like it, but i think Valve have made alot of unnecessary changes that they must have known would only prove to piss ppl off who paid money and have devoted alot of time to this game.

I cant understand their logic in doing this and its quite worrying

to know that they would make all these changes without explanation

to any already OFFICIALLY released game.

Seriously... they should have at least read the summerblue report before they changed the aim. That guy was right about the spraying effect causing too many headshots...

I dont know if this has been posted before, but ive just had my first stint with 1.4 and i have to tell you how disapointed i am with the jumping and movement changes. It might have been posted before (i aint read all the posts) but after just playing both dust and siege i have come to the conclusion that no consideration has been given to the effect the new changes have on map layout. As ct on dust most people jump the wall at ct spawn to get a good start, or as t they jump up on the steps wall to cut the corner. On Siege i jump onto the bridge rail at ct spawn. While all this is still possible u now lose a little time and its probably quicker to run the long way round.



As far as i am aware the speed bunnyhopping thingy was fixed in 1.3 it did not need messing up as it has been now.

I've been playing CS since beta 3 and was in CALi clans for a year or so. I am very happy with most of the changes in 1.4 with the exception of walking speed (which has significantly slowed down pub and match play). Removing jumping is okay, but some maps need to be tweaked or removed as the jumping obstacles upset certain map points.



I agree that these changes should have been made a long time ago, though. =/

ok, the walk thing im cool with, speedwalking was a total exploit, but the jumping will take some getting used to. everything else i like, but it does seem like the game has been a bit geared towards newbs. i dont know why it just feels that way to me. Gone are the days of rushing a pack of 6 newbs and watching them all crouch while you jump and fly over their heads blasting them with your desert eagle. i know that not realistic at all, but it sure as hell was fun. chaning the jumping had to be done though, but i feel they shouldve done it in a different way. i hear a lot of people saying their gonna quit cs, but they wont. what will the play q3? heh. the jumping makes some maps sorta weird too, giving 1 team an advantage as far as getting to places faster goes. other then that i like 1.4 laggy tho
