I think CS has been going down the tubes since they changed mp5 accuracy and awp power, but yes, this is another drastic change in gameplay, soon enough there will be a very small CS community, you ever consider the fact that they are trying to slowly kill CS so they dont have to deal with a media outrage or feel bad or something? I dunno im just trying to come up with a reason they would have to FUCK THIS GAME UP SO BAD.

            Where to start...

My CS played perfectly before 1.4 and now I have HUNDREDS of bugs. I paid for the CS I saw at my friends house 3 years ago and thsi is not it. Say you buy Diablo and then they relase a patch to turn it into the sims? You would be pretty fucking pissed just like I am. Well i paid for the game so I can jump like a whore if I want to. I'll fucking change all the code if I have to. If those dumbass people working at valve were smart they would isten to the community. Maybe they should take a fucking hint that when most people hate the changes, DONT CHANGE IT.

All I'm saying is that they took out much of the skill from CS. Like i said,
"The dodging asspect of the game is now eliminated. The game does not reward the skilled player, but rather the player with the most bullets in the gun he bears."

"It removes an up to down dimension in the game. Strafing left to right can only take you so far, jumping takes that to the next level."
btw If anyone doubts my skill they may play me in 1.3, maybe dust. But don't whine that i'm cheating. You may chose the server (provided that you yourself dont actually cheat; i've had that happen to me in a clan skirmish).

Personally, if the people want to change the game for the better they should. The masses shall dictate the game. I would not mind 1.3 jumping, accuracy, and walk, along with 1.4 features. I actually welcome it. Have you ever hear the saying, "the customer is always right"?

Plus, CS is, or one of, the most played games on the net. A division of two would'nt hurt. I mean, playing with 30,000+ people aint exactly lonley.

As far as the plug-in goes... I think people should have the choice.

I am basing this on the fact that I do think Valve violated one MAIN of the rules of game design/development that attracts and retains players - Newbs or Veterans:

WHEN IT COMES TO MOVEMENT, GIVE THE PLAYER THE BENEIFIT OF THE DOUBT.

                This includes Quake-Style jumping.

I myself am not a Noob.

I'm not a Clan member either.

                I'm not a veteran either.

However, what I find playing 1.4 -- When I can get the damn thing to work; they should have NEVER released this version being this damn buggy. It might as well be a beta -- Is that I no longer have the benefit of the doubt in terms of movement.

This was one of the things that HL did RIGHT and never changed even as newer and more advanced FPS came did.

As someone said, jumping to do simple things now leaves you a sitting duck.

                Example:

Hoping over the ledge/railing on the upper part of the dust ramp as you cross to the other end of the hallway (overlooking the underpass).

In 1.3 it was hop, over, and run again.

Now it is hop -- Stop dead -- And then run again.

That is where my main complaint is.

The Q-3 style jumping can get annoying, but honestly, I would only see people doing that as "last resort" when they are point-blank from an opponent and using it to doge either pistol or SMG fire. AND THAT'S IT.

So, there is where I would stand.

Tweak the Hs-Zone BACK to 1.3, tone the weapons DOWN but KEEP the kick ass spectator mods and I think this would have been a good release.

As it is now, it is pretty bad.

look, i'm not a noob or a l33t. i'm just your average semi-skilled player. And i've noticed how this jumping has hurt my game. it's not so much the dodging..i can strafe and get away. it's all the jumps while rushing that save you that extra...half a second to get into position faster than your opponent. i've learned that positioning is one of the keys to winning, if you get to the mail engangementzones before your opponent you have a much better chance. i'll point out a few rush tactics that i've seen degraded and there for unbalances a map somewhat. the italy boxes have already been discussed. what about the cobble jumps when you have to get up that ramp before the t's come out. it's almost impossible, so now you have to cover from below, which is much harder than covering from behind those double boxes. another rush that i like is the aztec rush from the t side. when you go jumping off that ramp to get into the water...it can be done without jumping twice...but it helps to be able to jump at least 2 times. office, when you have to scale boxes, sure there are other ways to go...but some just aren't as effective. i mean, overall it really messes up some peoples rushes. i'm not saying that it's totally ruined my game, but it has degraded them just a tad. sure i liked to jump and dodge, but any good player worth his salt can do the same thing or close to the same thing while strafing. cs was a nice blend of realism and fun. i'm not gonna say what the creators should and shouldn't have done. like some people have stated, if you're good, then this little "glitch" isn't going to slow you down too much, i'd like to see changes, but can't really make that happen. I'm not going to threaten anyone with "i'm leaving cs" comments, cause for the most part people don't care. One thing i have noticed though, lot more people playing dod. i think if they would have implemented this jump issue the way the did it in dod, it probably wouldn't have caused this much of an uproar. Cs was a blend of realism with fast paced game play. If you want totally real lifelife realism play dod, or some other mod where campage means ownage. otherwise adapt your skills to fit 1.4, no one's gonna miss you if you leave.

UnknownVeteren wrote..Yes, yes i do believe it detracts from the overall skill. Of course you can still move, but what good is that when even non-experienced playerz fire aimlessly from left to right. Plus, if you have ever been an experienced dodger you would have relied on jumping.
Experienced players rely on things that take EXPERIENCE to learn. Experienced players do not rely so much on a single action.

Experienced players scoff at the idea of depending on BHing as much as you and the rest of these morons do.

I am getting so sick of these BULLSHIT attempts to justify the unjustifiable. There is no "up and down dimension" even WITH BHing. There is no "next level of skill", like some other git is trying to pass off. Unless, that is, the "next level of skill" has become so perverted by you simpering, lowlife lamers that the "next level" means "abusing hitboxes". Calling BHing a skill, let alone calling it the next fucking level, would imply that it's something that can be perfected by a means of practice. Imagine that, perfecting the "skill" of hitbox exploitation. I'd just LOVE to see that, wouldn't you? I can just see some tool like KSharp working to find juuuuuuuust the right moment to BH in order to attain the maximum bullshit value for his effort (or lack thereof). The art of fucking the other player out of well-aimed headshots, what an appealing concept.

In conclusion, you're another poser who's pretending like he knows how to play the game. Additional thoughts? I hope you die painfully from a virus that causes profuse bleeding from your ears and anus.

                    You're a retard, that's for sure.

The instant the masses get a choice is the instant this mod ends. First, you get one jagoff who thinks that it's fine to change the game "just because". Then another decides that he doesn't like that either. So he makes another. And another person does it. Pretty soon, determining what was changed on any given server is more challenging than the actual mod.

Secondly, i'm not convinced that a single one of you morons is competent enough to make gameplay decisions. And i'm feeling optimistic today. Just like TRIBES, you've got 1000 different morons making 1000 half-assed additions, revisions, and changes. The concentrated mass of stupidity that went into making Renegades and Insomniax drove that fine game into the ground. These 2 trainwreck-of-logic-and-taste mods are EXACTLY why you do NOT give the player the "benefit of the doubt". The "player" is a fucking mongoloid untill proven otherwise.

And poor, poor Postal. Amazing how whenever some pro-BHing lamer flat out KNOWS that he's full of shit, a complete and total dodging of all outstanding points occurs. I called your hand and you failed, pissant. Step to the back of the line now, little jimmy.

Can you believe I spent the last half an hour just reading what you guys have said 8)

Well, personally I think mouth is right to certain extent. All you so called "Vets" out there are just the n00bs who think they own CS with their jumping style. I'm not a pro, I only picked cs up at beta 6. I admit I used alot of the jumping tactics back in 1.3, including rushing, dodging fire, pointblank fights. But when cs 1.4 came out it was all useless unless you're like really close to each other.

I've changed my whole style of playing, using other tactics and it works well, dodging I usually have no problem at by strafing, if I get caught by an enemy coming up hte other side I immediately crouch and if they get close, I give it a gay jump 8). Bomb plants, quitchurbitchings, atleast when you're a CT, now you know where it is, and if T you know one guys gonna take he's sorry-ass time defusing it.

As for the accuracy...iono if you guys are n00bs or what, take a couple of shots....don't friggin unload the whole clip at your opponent unless they're right infront of you, Pistols, Rifles, or smgs..

The only reason you think it's gay is because you're jumping! And even when I do, I find the first 1 or 2 shots are still pretty accurate.

So there, how can you say jumping's a big factor of the game, as for positioning, if you think you're slowed down, wouldn't it be logic that the opponent is slowed down too? I find no problem with rushing and no jumping. If the enemy crouches and fires at you, I give it a jump then crouch and fire back as he prolly lost his aim. either that or I keep rushing

CS is still fun....as those who are SO dependent on the jumping, GG

You guys are still forgetting the walking problem. That is bigger than jumping because it takes almost all the stealth factor out of the game. I could give 2 shits less about being able to avoid fire by jumping cause I can already do that by listening to sound and using my stealth. But when you aren't able to jump period without slowing down the whole friggen game, that's just bullshit.
