No that's not why. In communism, you have no money. You get what you work for. You work for an hour. You get bread. The government owns all the businesses. Form the products that produce, they set up trade with other countries and trade for... not money, but for other things. Like food, wood, and steel. And that' how it works. Not because they don't give out mass amounts of freedom like the united stats. They also didn't get bombed like me did. Because they're government doens't really piss anyone off except us.

And what do we call this? Control... that's right kiddies. And too much control is oppression. And that is why communism failed. And that is why CS is failing.

And it looks like Valve is hurting CS more than this mod because more than %50 of the CS community is will to leave unless they remove bunnyhopping in a way that doesn't slow down CS's pace so much.
First off, even if you go with csnation's poll, you have to consider the fact that more than fifty percent of the people who took the poll said that they didn't like the changes. They never said that they were willing to leave the community. Secondly, I would find it hard to believe that such a high number of players would leave over something that is really trivial. Does it change gameplay? Yes. Does it slow gameplay. NO! 90% of the time gameplay is contained in the forward to backward side side movement. For those of you who are claiming that this slight pause after a jump is drastically changing the pace of the game to consider the fact that what you're saying doesn't make sense. I can think of only a few examples, say the boxes up into the window on cs_italy that require several jumps right in a row in order to execute. Regardles, this isn't a change in the play of the entire map, just a slight difference in one area.

IF YOU ARE NOT JUMPING AROUND LIKE A JACKASS, IT WON'T AFFECT YOU 90% of the time.

I keep hearing people complaining about leaving, and I'm officialy calling your bluff. LEAVE.

Oh ffs, would someone just mention the Nazi's so we can invoke Godwin's law and be done with this?

Change is change, some are scared by it and some embrace it. I'm a big fan of evolution, if we don't evolve, physically or mentally we are nothing. Everything changes, deal with it.

It doesn't slow down the game does it? Well ask any experienced player and they will tell you it does. It's not just certain spots that slow you down. Any time you need to jump for whatever reason, you are a sitting duck. Jumping means you are passing over obstacles. Like ledges, railings, curbs, anything that is higher than what you are unable to walk over.

And don't base this on realism because anyone will tell you it is a balance between realism and fun. In order for CS to be fun, it needs to keep its fast pace. THe jumping slows down the game's pace. This means the balance of realism and fun is now unbalanced.

Not only does the jump system slow things down, but so does the slower walk speed. Its almost like you are tip toeing around. This all contributes to camping, the best strategy. And guess what camping does? It slows down the game.

It's very possible %50 could leave because this is a very big change and a hit to the game's fun factor. If you ask me, I have been here for all the releases, and this is by far the biggest change that affects the fun factor I have seen. And I have quit CS? Yes I have. If this weren't as bad as the previous changes, I would still be playing. Do I hope that they fix it? Yes I do, but I also hope I'm not wasting my time by voicing my opinion.

i guess the main problem with this release is, the gameplay just doesn't feel "round" any more. there are to many things that are messed up.

for example pistoles. Shooting the Deagle crouched will give you a spread almost as big as an unzoomed awp while the usp is right on target, even over hugh distances. The AK got way to powerfull. i don't know what they've done to it, but it's incredible. which leads me right to the next point. headshots. maybe they've fixed them and their finally acurate, but the number of headshots that occure now is downright ridiculus. and I'm not saying that because I'm on the receiving end. I've counted my own kills, and over 50% where by a headshot. now, i have good aim, but that goes way to far.

walking just doesn't work that way. valve calls it an exploit, but in reality it's something that has proven to be useful over the last years. something around 500, 550 (cl_forwardspeed) would be perfect. otherwise walking doesn't have any tactical value. or have you ever tried to cross the bridge in aztec now without making a sound. just too dangerous.

I'm not gonna start about jumping. i kinda like the idea, although i think every restriction in movement takes away from the game's dynamics. and if you can't hit someone jumping, go play a real game like quake for a while and get some aim , but seriously, eliminating bunny hopping would be ok, but valve chose instead to effectively remove all jumping.

I played the 1.4 beta a while back, then didn't again until Wednesday, and after playing the 1.4 official release, it seemed to me that the walking/running speeds were actually pretty much the same as 1.3... The "jump slow-down" tricks you into thinking that everything's slower, but I felt the movement was actually the same...

NAZIs!!!! Weeeee. That's socialism though. Communisn never had a corupt leader. lol. I dont' know what you're talking about. If you say Stalin, I'm gonna laugh at you. He was not corupt by any means. He loved Russia and was proud to be it's leader. He mad Russia a very powerful country. If it wasn't for him we would have lost alot more people in World War II. By the way... here's a little known fact. Joseph Stalin is not his real name. he changed it asfter the last Czar is Russia was killed. He real name was Ioseb Vassarionavich Dhzagashvilli.... I know my history. Beleive me. Communisn only caused opression when it was't able to run properly, because the united states didn't want to trade with them for other things. They just wanted to give them moeny. So it never really worked out.

                  Edited by [user="4237"] @ [time="1019859511"]

i think that the effects resulting from the changes made were intended. this patch was meant to be free of all impurities. no more deagle headshots while repeatedly crouch jumping to avoid getting lit up. no more bunnyhopping to get to the bombsites. no more using the awp as an assault rifle. no more silent side-strafing at a jogging pace. no more setting the bomb 10 feet out of the planting zone onto an inaccessible box. the basic argument here is that because all these things have been in the game for so long, that it makes it alright to keep them. i think the fact that the cs team made all these changes so late in the game is proof enough of how adamant they are about them being appropriate.

and like what those top pro players say is purely objective[/sarcasm]. plz. they play for big sums of money. it's no shit that they're not gonna like it. if i were them, i wouldn't wanna see anything about my precious little game being altered to even the slightest degree either.

this latest progression of cs is not unlike that of the final fantasy series. in ffix, the last title ff on the psx, square pulled out all the stops and incorporated everything into the game that they felt was needed. and one of those things just so happend to be the need to bring the game back to it's roots (deformed characters, less futuristic setting, etc.) before the big switch onto the ps2. i think it's the same case here. the cs team finally addressed a problem which they've been meaning to fix since the older betas, but were never able to get around to; to go out in a blaze of final glory before their big changeover to cs:cz.

I've also been playing CS forever... and on this poll.. over %50 people said they didnt like the new jumping effects (for me almost anything about the new release except for maybe the new spectator modes (1st person is really handy to find cheaters..)) thats not to say the remaining percentage wouldn't have liked to keep the older styles (perhaps the poll should have been worded : what would you have preferred: old style / new style" or something.... Keeping the old style probably wouldn't have bothered anyone.... and bunny-hopping was pretty much eliminated before.... REALLY now, how often do you find people getting huge speed boosts from jumping around funny? and the speed boost they get isn't even that great anymore.

As for the other changes with the accuracies / and weapon switch times, I feel they were all completely uncalled for.. I didnt even know about them until I played... Its totally screwed up my game, as I before relied on fast switching to my sidearm.. or kind of hop-zooming with the awp to keep from getting sniped by someone allready sitting there.... Being fast, on your toes... and being silent and sneaky was a big factor in the game before.... Now every server I play on, everyone usually camps.. you can't even flank the other team if they have any decent players because they'll hear you coming (since walking is now useless)...

I've allready stopped playing... this isn't the game I fell in love with a couple years ago.... that games dead, it could be resurrected... but with game-style now, I might as well play a prettier version of CS with faster gameplay.. like urban-terror.... (which most of my friends now play anyways) admittedly most of the maps suck, but hey... the mod itself is pretty decent.. only play the good maps and your fine. Its fine if VALVe wants to drive away all their veteran players...... plenty of other games out there to play..

Would have been nice to have a real game for just another year or so though.... its a shame. (too bad VALVe didnt have the common sense to poll the community on changes before they added them.... could have saved everyone a LOT of trouble (hell, I'm sure CSN.. or C-S.net would have had no problem hosting a poll for them.....) A new Rifle/Pistol or something is one thing, but all this is just rediculous, and serves to hand the game back to the newbs, at least for awhile.. and completely alter the feel of the game.

All this does it make a new challenge for the leet players. We have to overcome this and rise above oncce again. This may be hard. But it's a a challenge and what's a game without a little challenge... Think about that for a while. Games will always change or they will die. What's kept CS going for so long is that it is always updating. I still think that Vavle has to think about this change and incorporate the ideas of the community into 1.5. And they need to take along break after 1.5 and redo this game. Make it the beautiful game that is was suposed to be. Redo the engine. Make it a game that will have alot more people playing it. If they do change the engine, this will gain attention to the game that has outlasted alot of games and will get reviews and therefore make Vavle alot more money. I think Vavle needs to select a few people who know what they want in a game and know what's good for the whole community. This has been a great game for many years and I hope it will continue to be so for many more. The only way to do that is to redo this game. This might make some people leave but will make alot more people come. And make it 1 player so that the noobs can have something to practice with. Just like Rainbowsix. You had one player and there wasn't any cheating for the first 2 years. There is some now. but not alot. Oh what memories. The old days of RainbowSix. lol. Back to a better game. CS needs a new face to it. I hope this message can get to vavle or someone somehow.

Too much control? It's controlling the physics of the game! If they didn't control it then people could hop 40 feet high and other inane crap.

Is the anti-cheat limiting too? Is it controlling? Without a doubt yes, but control is needed in a game where exploitation and static play styles seem to dominate.

And guess what? The static just turned dynamic for all of us, just not you guys.

Just though some of you might wanna know that you still can increase the walkspeed in 1.4. Use cl_movespeedkey (standard 0.52) 0.57 and you will be able to sneakwalk faster without noise. Works like a charm! Not that i contribute exploits (if this is one..)
