I have no problem with the news post/joke or anything...but that statement goes a little too far for me. I'm definitely not going to put it in the same category as "hard-drugs" -- but to present smoking pot as harmless is naive. Sure, many people have gone along just "fine" with marijuana but it can and has seriously affected many peoples' lives.

Just to throw my two cents in, rizzuh I disagree with ya here.

-pot=gateway drug. Can lead to worse stuff that WILL mess up your

life.

-drugs cost $$$ and u gotta get the money from somewhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that one way drugs and crime are

related?

-Is marijuanna (sp) addictive? I don't know for sure. But, if so even if

it's just psychologically addictive and not chemically/physically

addictive, then instead of doing pot, the pot starts to do you and

then it affects the way you live your life when the way you

spend your time revolves around getting your fix.

On an actual CS note...does anyone else not like it that dropped bombs now show up on the T's radar and hosties exact positions, even after they're moved, show up on the CT's radar?

Christ. Rizzuh did not say that pot was harmless. He said it was on the same level as beer or cigarettes. Please try to read what people write, without transposing your prejudices all over it.

Too much of anything will hurt you in some way. Too much alcohol will make you an alcoholic, too much weed a weed addict, smokes - lung cancer, water - asphyxiation

, etc...

Understand what I'm trying to get across? Legislation should have some rationale behind it, when banning different kind of public health threats. Right now, it's a bit messed up in the US.

But heck, I'm from Denmark, so what do I know? :)

My prejudices "all over it"? My opinion, yes. You have your own so respect mine.

OK, so he didn't say "harmless" (and I'm sure he recognizes it isn't totally), I was just saying that that statement seemed (at least to me) to indicate that smoking pot isn't as serious as I think it is.

I expressed my opinion which by no means is "right" but it's what I think (based on personal experience/views, books and websites such as the one a linked to).

omfg ppl pay attention... valve is not going to put anti cheat into effect untill the 2nd week of 1.4.. By doin this theyre allowing people to go and hack for a few days them *wham* make them go out and buy another CD

Rz didn't mean anything by it besides it all goes to freedom of.....omg now you got me doing NO I refuse to take the topic off cs! I'm willing to give 1.4 a chance we've been threw worse beta/versions. This one will surely have it bad points and its good points. I know im stating the obvious but you people keep saying things as questions or fears so im giving an answer.

The only reason weed was prohibited in the first place was it gave Texan authorities an easy way to keep Mexican immigrants under control in the 1920's (I get this from a documentary I saw on CBC, the Canadian public broadcaster). Then they said it would make you insane, then they said it you would get addicted to it like heroin, then (it's the 1980's now) they said "smoke weed and all sorts of bad things will happen to you ... we just don't know what they are." Now the latest excuse for prohibition is that its a "gateway drug", even though evidence suggests marijuana prohibition INCREASES use of hard drugs.

There's the aura surrounding marijuana because of what those D.A.R.E. assh**** told us when we were in elementary, but weed has, in reality, NEVER killed ANYONE...EVER unlike alcohol, cigarettes, Viagra, Acutane etc.

Weed has never been proven to cause any long-term affects to intelligence. And in my experiences with pot and my friends' use of pot (read: this part is totally my opinion and unscietific) I can say that pot is not addictive but it can be habit forming, just like chocolate or Counter-Strike. It HAS been proven to be highly effective in treating pain amongst those with chronic pain and terminal cancer. In fact, Americans are fleeing to British Columbia just so they can smoke weed for their pain without getting busted by overzealous American cops (see: http://www.cbc.ca/disclosure/media/020326_drugs.ram).

One more thing for those on the anti-pot side. If I'm not mistaken, when they legalized pot in the Netherlands usage went DOWN. So if you really want to get rid of pot that may be the way to go. Prohibition sure as hell isn't working out all that well for you.

-- I personaly thing, hackers will always "hack". They will find out how to hack the next versions and always bypass them. No matter what we do. So far I thing CS Guard is the best. Honestly, 1.4 wont stop cheaters, it will just encourage people to make more cheats to by pass it and be famous for there cheats. Cheating will never stop, if you dont want to play with cheats then open up a server, and put a password for you and your friends...

btw: it should be DrugNation... since were talking about drugz.... come on rizzuh, lets make this a Drug Site!
