CS 1.4 Release date

Well ill tell ya ive been playin cs for about 2 years now and i think i may just quit because of this new jumping system, but i guess the n00bs who are 10 years old are getting their way. they dont want to spend the time to get good at cs like it used to be, they want to pwn everyone the first day they play the game. OoOo sorry n00bs that you cant handle someone jumping around you like a grasshopper, but it takes skill to do something like that plus keep your sights on the person your jumping around.



Oh but i forgot, now that cs has been retail the cs team has to accomidate for the little children that really have no skillz and dont want to put in the time and energy to get good at the game.

15:50 on 4/9/02 i think 1.4 will b coo, but when u cant move while planting the bomb.. u must got 1 or 2 guy to cover you there for 5 sec, thast too much in a small room :/ i saw the new jump system in steam its just make the game more realistic, and 2 jumps must b enough any time =)



w00t only a week left from 1.3 ,now everyone come and play, play, play with it :)

ummm your wrong its not 2 jumps till you slow down its 1. and umm.... who wants to be caught out in a big area like the waters in aztec with a sniper bearing down on you and you jump to make yourself harder to hit and when you come down you stall out... doesnt sound like muchfun to me.

um, i'm pretty sure the only reason jumping was in cs in the first place as becasue of the hl engine, and jumping is sort of there, so they put it in the game. cs is supposed to be realistic (besides all of the people stacking and such ). think about this: there was bomb threat called in to, oh say a remote desert with a lot of crates (dust). a special forces tea was called in to eliminate the threat. the ct's rush in to where the most valuabl boxes are at, only to find some terrorists jumping on each other's heads, rying to plant the bomb higher up. thebobm get's planted, and a firefight follows. the swat team mission eds up failing, due to the excessive jumping of the terrorists, and because the t's were camping. when they go back for briefing, they are told to watch out for more campers next time, and to jump much more. ok, now wtf, where's the realism there?

Isn't cs meant to be a realistic game? How many times do you see CTs like SAS storming a building and hopping across the roof like a bloody kangaroo? No if there was a bit where there were snipers and it was too open they would use fbs and smoke grenades. Mind you RL CTs don't lag when they run though smoke:S So I guess we will have to resort to cover and fbs. Mind you the n00bs probably won't get the idea so they'll go back to Valve and complain :S

CS isn't realistic, CS is a frickin action mod for a very old engine. The game is fun in 1.3 and it's fun in 1.4, just different types of action. I still don't see why they don't just settle on things though but I don't really care. Also to those saying jumping is so it's realistic, not much is realistic in CS, go play DoD, Rogue Spear, or Operation Flashpoint if you want realism. Crap, yelling at both sides of an argument isn't smart to do... I'm a moron.

WTF? are you talking about, your putting real world situations in place of a "video game" i think you need to learn what is real and what isnt. Your the type of person that prolly thinks that when you kill someone in cs they go to heaven, or hell :P



i just think we all need to remember that this is still a game made of polycount (even if it does take up most of our free time

1.4 sucks. i don't want it to come out...i hate it already!!!

i don't really mind THAT MUCH about the JUMPING..but the fact they made it more hard to aim while MOVING with a gun..so u can't strife and shoot with the ak/colt..... i hate that...friggen ghey!! i don't like how i have to sit still to shoot...or crouch...damn damn

They are making the game too realistic and there is a fine line between realism with fun vs. too realistic making it not fun. 1.3 and below fits in the fun category. However, 1.4 seems to be very close to the line.

IMHO: CS (1.3 and earlier) is fun because its a blend between realism and action. If you take out the action and add more realism in, you end up with a completely different game and end up making it less fun.
