As some others have said, I wouldn't mind the jumping if it only stops you after 2+ jumps. But when it stops you after 1 jump, its gonna be very annonying. And here's an example why this isn't very realistic:
On italy, if you are a CT and next to the long tunnel, you want to run across the front of it without being hit by a sniper in the house. So you run, then jump to avoid being hit, and then you land somewhere in the middle of the tunnel entrance. Now if you just land and start running, you will stop for a second before you can move out of the sniper's view and most likely get hit. So instead you jump again to keep your momentum and get out of the sniper's view. So, this is encouraging you to jump twice instead of just once as you go in front of the tunnel.
I dont know if you guys know what im talking about, but whatever :p

1.4 is geared to newbies who dont know wtf CS is..
They make crosshairs all gay now to show idiot newbs not to jump and shoot at the same time.. and to always duck.. pretty pointless..
This jumping and only getting a full jump per 1-2 sec is lame..
also planting the bomb completly still is fucking lame.. overall.. CS = great for newbies named "Player".Comment

Who ever said they want cs to be completely realistic?!!!! I sure didn't. I'm a super duper just happy dappy fine with the way it is now minus some bugs. I don't need the engine to be changed so that I feel more secure because I can't handel playing a *gasp* unrealistic game. Seriously, f*ck off valve and let us be, we don't want all your sh*tty "additions". And to all you acting the 1.4 is the Christ: EIther you have never played the beta, you are a newbie, or you don't realize the full impact that this one jump = stop means. If they want to make you slow down after 3 jumps and stop after 4 or something, hell, go ahead. But think what not being able to jump means. Try this all of you who say it is great: unbind your spacebar and play for a few days without being able to jump. See if you still embrase 1.4 with the same graditute.Comment

All of you have geat points wow, its bringin a teat to my eyes, i think i am finally bringing people around and seeing the truth about the impact of this craptastic 1.4 jumping system. you hear all these people saying "oh its gonne be more realistic" i have 1 thing to say... did counter-strike become the #1 online game in the world being realistic such as rouge spear....ummm thats a fat negative. let me know what ya think.

i feel we need to try at least to put a stop to vavle and what they are trying to make cs, the game we all love, and play all the time a pos game for n00bs where they can be l33t the first day they play. I would like to say this to the cs team and valve... and i think i speak for many here...
Plz dont accomidate to the retail whores aka the n00bs who whine and complain about things such as jumping, stay tru to the veterans that have been with you and the cs community for years through great patches and bad.

1.4 sucks. i don't want it to come out...i hate it already!!!
i don't really mind THAT MUCH about the JUMPING..but the fact they made it more hard to aim while MOVING with a gun..so u can't strife and shoot with the ak/colt..... i hate that...friggen ghey!! i don't like how i have to sit still to shoot...or crouch...damn damn

As a player from the early betas, I welcome the changes made to the jumping. This is afterall, a game which is meant to represent conflicts between real-life terrorists and counter-terrorists. (Rather than gun wielding kangaroos versus cyborg ninja grasshoppers.)
Does the release of CSv1.4 also mean that we will also see HLv1.1.0.8 at the same time?Comment

i think it'll be better for balance: skilled players will have some difficulties and newbies will have it a little easier to get some kills.

Oh but i forgot, now that cs has been retail the cs team has to accomidate for the little children that really have no skillz and dont want to put in the time and energy to get good at the game.
As opposed to catering to the long time player who think that repeatedly hammering the jump key and spraying their Mp5 at me makes them good players.
I don't mind getting killed in CS unless it's by some tosser who looks like they are in spasm...Comment

Hmmm... Various points of View have been displayed, however...
I think there is more to the additions, then the reasons, its for the n00bs. I think its from the abuse that the people have displayed, to the game. Example, allowing people to move has allowed people to plant the bomb in de_dust2 behind the box, making it un defusable? Is this fair, for the CT's. Imagine in an important clan match, and all the CT's kill all the T's, however... unable to diffuse the bomb? Instant WIN?? Is that fair? Look, maybe we can fix problems like these, with map fixes and no delay once a player has left the bomb site plant area.
Jumping, well... This may cause problems to people, who have based their entire cs, tactics around jumping. One Jump is very harsh, as Jumping has been the only thing saving my ass, from AWP's. I reckon, CS, will now turn into AWP heaven, as all these players, will now most likely be stationary for the AWPer, if they are going to have an addition as the jumping, then the AWP must be hindered in some way, to create fairness... Because Aztec, will change into de_AWP. People are just gonna keep whining.
Hmmm, I was a jumper, but sometimes you just have to take like a man, some of you need to stop whining. Just play the damn thing, im pretty sure some of you have better things to do, then form an alliance against 1.4. Valve are just trying to make it more strict in gameplay. See, they gave you and inch you took 3 inches, they give you 2 inches, you go 5, they give you a rope and you want to be f*cking cowboy.
People also have to remember, that everyone has the disadvantage. Not just you, people who jumped before will also have to change. So... n00bs will be n00bs... They always cry, they call people hackers, and they assume, that they are the best. Let the little pussies, go. It comes down to the aiming and shooting of the gun, and not the rate of how people jump.
