ok i dont really see the problem..ive been playing halflife for a long time - first tfc, cs, flf, a bit of firearms, dod and more cs with a bunch of mods thrown in.



i have no problem with the graphics watsoever, im accustomed and have a personal attachment to all the old halflife textures. sure they dont look as nice as some of the new games out there, but they look great to *me*. also, hl offers a very smooth relaxed movement for the player, ive noticed when you walk on quake3 engine the player bobs..annoying and increases the dizzy factor. hl has a place in our hearts and no flashy easy (sof) other crappy-plot fps will replace it for a loooooong time.



plus i bet at least a fourth of the cs community cant run the newer games on their comps, i have a 32meg graphics card and some of the newer games really choke.



so yalls who say hl is old shut ure trap. if you dont like it buy something NEW. n00b!



oh yeha, id rather have cz come out a few months later if it takes me longer to beat it heheh. not to be dissin the POD-bot but anyone one decent at awp/ak/m4 could probably relatively breeze thru the game, especially if u have hl experience



i agree some of the bugs should be fixed, but u retailers must understand that cs is still a mod at heart and no mod is perfect. if you think those bugs are bad, you would have seizures playing some of the betas of other mods. development is an ongoing process and im sure goose is a busy man and has a real life.

This news really pisses me off, but I am not surprised at Gearboxes decision, I'd rather have a complete, playable, bug free CZ, than a shitty full of bugs CZ.

wtf are you talking about here? my point was that it's impossible for this game to have been planned "years ago" as you claimed. now, maybe this is just me, but usually "years" denotes several of them, ie more thatn three. so we go back to you complaing about CS's gameplay. didn't you admit earlier that you now longer play CS because youare sick of the gameplay? if so, then what in the hell do you care about CZ if its just gonna be more of the same ( which i don't think it will be).

how the fuck do you know what doom 3 plays like? do you work at id? to the best of my knowledge, no one in the public or gaming press has actually played doom 3 yet, rather they have only seen gameplay footage( like at e3). i hope i don't need to explain how this is a big difference. as for halo, i have only played some 4v4 ctf at fragapalooza ( biggest lan party in canada) and as fun as it was, it didn't have me playing for 15 hours non stop, like cs did. my biggest problem with halo was the controls. once i can play it with a mouse and keyboard, i'll bet i'll like it. oh, but you won't zimzap, because by teh time its released by gearbox for the pc, the graphics engine will be essentially 2 years old!! omg, looks like you'll have something new to bitch about, you bitchy little bitch.



now, i agree with you taht GTA 3 is a damn fun game. after all, any game that lets me bludgeon a hooker can't be bad. but it gets boring after a while because it is only single player. now with CS iget a new experience almost every game. the human element always makes for some great suprises. now i'm sure CZ will get boring after a while as well, like all single player games. but, if it comes anywhere close to taking the online CS experience and putting it into single player form, i will be satisfied.

True AoEII is one of the best games out there with not great graphics. Too bad your forgetting that it was near amazing for when it came out many years ago. When CS came out the engine was outdated and the graphics were well outdated by games like Q3. When CZ comes out the engine will be outdated again and DoomIII could even come out before it.

when aoe2 came out, 2d engines were considered outdated by the same retards like yourself that think HL is outdated now. aoe2 did 2d beautifully, with great artwork and attention to detail. it did its job exceptionally well. but again, the graphics weren't the reason people played it. it was GAMEPLAY. guess what? HL engine does its job rather well too. it makes a 3d world for you to experience the gameplay of HL or CS or mods like DOD. THE GAMEPLAY!! oh, and FYI aoe2 came out the same year as CS.

Does this mean CZ will suck? No but it doesn't help it et any better.

Jeez! I'm sick of you guys complaining about how the engine is going be outdated. Who cares!! Cs is one of the best games out there not because of graphics. No its because of the realistic game play and that is the main reason Cs is so popular. Who cares about how old the engine is when the game kicks major ASS!!!!

Since when? I'm sure someone else has said it but I'll say it again. CS2 has not been "officially" announced yet, though there has been footage of it in the making. CS2 is not in anyway shape or form related to CZ except for its basic routes as being apart of CS.



When CZ debutes, a patch for the original CS (no zimzap, that doesn't mean beta 1.) will be released for anyone not purchasing CZ. This update adds the new maps and guns (possibly player models, I don't know.) so that CS users will still be able to play online with CZ users, though they don't get the extra bonuses that come with CZ such as single player.



Did I break that down easy enough for you, or shall I draw it out with a crayon on colored paper?
