I have been banned for having 2-0 before, which is completely ludricous. But, I only really run into a cheater once a week.



However, I think the variable is the kind of maps you play. Like I play cs_militia lot, and rarely run into a cheater. If I was to go to awp_map, however, chances are 50/50 there will be a cheater - and a lot of times their wearing the [myg0t] tag.



This is why I think people have inflated views of the number of people that are cheating - they're playing on the maps cheaters unfortunately also love.



BTW, there is nothing wrong with a score like 26-0, or above. I've gotten scores like that before, and obviously I know that I'm not cheating. To really be sure someone is you would have had played with hacks before, and then view suspects with Locked Camera. I'd suggest if your really serious about catching people that actually ARE cheating to d/l OGC, play a LAN game with some friends, and delete all trace of the cheat you just dowloaded after your done. To heighten your expertise on how to actually view cheating vs. skill, you unfortantely have to view for yourself what cheating is like. Or if your afraid like a lot of people to actually even download a cheat, at least view a demo.



This may cut down a lot of wrong accusations, and help catch the real cheaters.



P.S: I infact tend to show some people demos of a cheating clan I had the chance to run across. Got the people's WONids, and anyone can just ask me for the demo of them.

I was as happy as a kid, then I was booted for being a bot.

Well, mr tunkeymicket, theres all the coding i cant do. LOL. Did you not learn how to read at school? I commented on the simpleness getting into my first clan, the point is, it aint simple nemore...not for dumb ppl like u at all.

i think it is a great idea, however I have had @$$holes do somethign similar to the shooting of the head and blcoking e, however I KNOW i dont cheat, I left cs six months ago when cheating was going mad... I'm almost tempted to release all the coding I couldn't do...the Xtra scanner doesn't pick up the handmade ones nor the ones involving handmade device driver hacks so you still have work to do...Rather than targetting specific cheats you should target how the cheats operate, thru IAT manipulation and DLL hooking. Heuristic scans would be beneficial as they would look for code similar to those found in cheats, thus defeating most all cheats. A simple heuristic checker could look for large amounts of matches to stuff like: aaasmoke or <====, both of which seem to occur in the more common hacks. Heuristic searching for items like the code block used in loaders or the code block that hooks the DLL in the injected DLL would be more beneficial than just specific attacks, since these are aimed towards how almost every cheat operates. The new logging features of cheats easily tell how you were detected and make it very simple to write anti-detection code. Oh well my thoughts on this matter.

First off, I'd like to give my thanks to Anist again; I think he has a unique idea here. I was skimming through this list of comments and was rather shocked to see some people using the typical "It's just a game. You take it too seriously." I think it's safe to say that most of us here actually bought the game (or at least Half-Life, and then downloaded CS). If you ask me, when I dish out more than $10 for a game, I expect to enjoy it. Let me ask you this: Would you buy CS Retail (if it wasn't offered for free online) if you knew it was overrun with cheaters? More than likely, your answer would be "no." Yes, it is just a game, but it's a game we paid for. I probably wouldn't give a flip if it was some entirely free game that I got off the internet. My clan and I have been around since Beta 1 and we've always enjoyed the game. Only recently have cheaters exploded into every server. It's not easy to just drop your favorite game the second you become frustrated with cheaters. When you like something a lot, you defend it when the entertainment is challenged.



In light of this, I think the idea of busting the cheaters from within has the potential of being extremely effective. I can almost "live" with aimbotters, wallhackers, etc, but when someone gets angry and crashes the server, I draw the line. Several individuals have made the foolish mistake of threatening AND crashing the server with me in the game - taking screenshots of the text and later forwarding the information on to the administrator. Some have disputed that such a "crash" is NOT a denial of service. However, users ARE forcefully disconnected due to an exploit in a server glitch. Any logs that the server was recording are cut off (data disruption), and the server is forced to reload the game. Sure, no physical damage was done, but it is an attack nonetheless. Maybe someone who knows more about this can provide a little more information on it. DoS or not, people got disconnected from a server by another, non-administrating user.



Just my thoughts - I'm sure some of you will probably disagree (which is fine, but if you feel the need to post a comment, do so in a mature manner).

interestingly, i just interviewed system who made ogc. Well, he aint at all too happy with the current situation either. Did you know that he has stopped coding cos of all the lame ppl trying to hack just to ruin other ppls games?



Anyway there'll be more on that when im done with it and publish it-but its an intersting paradox.

Well People, This is my last message as 'CV|Apocalypse' I have just found out from 12 odd servers that the entire clan, CV| (C)ritical (V)ortex A Clan That H4X your Ass, wallhacks and aimbots, and if you try to kick them they will crash the server. If you all see them, say what you please, but i have left the clan due to this fact and if you ask how i know. They asked me to make an interface for the wallhack and aimbot coding they have for the csguard run around, this is legitimate info. The clanmates are: CV|PilLaGe, CV|CompleX, CV|Death, CV|Pika-Eh also know as [45th]Pika-Eh, CV|b00 are the main 5 clan members that confronted me. So i feel they are the scum of the earth and are worth nothing in return but permenant Ban from CS and that should start the process of banning clan cheaters.
