    CS 1.4 PARA

Various sources have e-mailed me stating that accuracy of the PARA in CS 1.4 BETA is very, very, very high. It may be a bug, but no testers have told me that Valve has made a statement concerning it. It may be a hint that Valve is tinkering with the accuracy of the PARA, making a more useful weapon.

Thanks to the various testers who have violated their agreement with Valve.

I have found, after many extensive tests, that the PARA is a good weapon if you are playing on a 32 person server and the opposing team rushes the same way you do. Just kinda start shooting and ppl. die and curse and other such things that pertain to M rated games.

The Para is a huge machine gun it's not going to have perfect accuracy :P I don't know why they would change that. I hope the Para doesnt become the AWP of CS 1.4

Well right now the way the para is, is its just a larger version of the AK47, sept it slows you down and is less accurate when sprayed.

It should be true to its name, a heavy machine gun which can mow down enemies at the cost of speed and accuracy. Good for holding a position and supporting the offense.

Right now its pretty useless, just buy an AK.

The M249 is a huge machine gun, which is exactly why its accuracy IS good. It's heavy. It is designed for sustained, suppresive fire (hence the quick-change barrell design. Oh and sustained fire that's as accurate as it currently is in CS poses as much danger to allies as to enemies). It is designed to be accurate enough to be fired over the heads of squad mates... in fact that was one problem that was encountered with a new machine gun system being tested - it was too light, and thus its accuracy was not reliable.

Given the crazy athletics only possible in in CS, hitting anything with the current M249 is near impossible. There should be a base innacuracy that doesnt build as the gun is shot.. and the user should have a higher max ammo amount.. this would make the gun a better suppresive fire weapon, but what to keep someone from DMing with it? Slower movement, less jumping ability, and the already high cost.

                  It's about time.

The number one reason to they are adjusting it would be the new squad assault weapon from Condition Zero.

Well, changes to the para are all well and good...para sniping is still possible, though not as easy as it was around beta 6-ish (or so i've heard)...then again, before 1.3 came out, there were posts about how the overall accuracy of the AK was going to be toned down, so we'll have to wait and see :)

And also, just about every news bit about 1.4 has some kind of semi-snide comment about the supposed confidentiality of the Valve agreement. If there's a problem with people violating the terms of the Valve beta test, then why are CSNation writers posting news about it? Either post the news, or don't. But that's just me :0)

Yep, gotta love the idiots who are leaking all this information. There will probably not be another beta test like this again.

Good. Heavy weapons are more accurate than lighter ones.

the size of a weapon has nothing to do with it's accuracy.

no, but the weight helps reduce the recoil, and the recoil is dependent on the shell and caliber being used.
