About the title of the M249 being a para, i can explain. The version used in Counter-Strike has no solid buttstock, as you have probably noticed. This version with folding wire buttstock has been designated the PARA, short for paratrooper. It is quite difficult to jump out of an airplane and parachute into an LZ with a weapon of any great length, so they removed the stock. Hope this clears that up!

i always thought it was called a "Para" coz when u use it you are para-noid about losing it [ coz of all those rounds you spend saving up]

The 228 has it's strengths - I've seen players get kills with it that anyone else would struggle to get with automatics. I haven't used the 5-7 since it was released so I've no idea.

About the 'freaks' wanting the guns to be 100% realistic - well the reason Gooseman went to see the real guns fired at a shooting range was to model them realistically, and he included these real guns and coded physics that are 'supposed' to be real

He's been quoted as saying he 'selfishly' made this game for himself and everyone else can go hang - well there's your gun freak right at the top, making this free game that you just happen to enjoy :-p

Heh, actually the Para is pretty accurate. Shoot in bursts of 1 or 2 and you got a mighty powerful AK-47 in your hands.

I agree with Downspell, a PARA can be a mighty powerful AK-47 with only one difference, havin 100 bulletz.

NO the PARA's rof is far to slow for the guy taking the point position to use. Even if the accuracy is increased (which it should be), the only use for the para is backup/cover fire.

It's aboot time the accuracy was increased on the PARA. It is probably the most useless gun in Counter-Strike.

PARA is sometimes "usefull" but the size of the gun which will make you slower and less jumping capability wll make no difference when you come to the battlefield (me myself always like the gun that have power, accuracy and the one that don't slow you down!

I was the first one to send in saying that CS 1.4 beta was out to testers and you never gave meh credit.

Damn, this para sounds like a bad boy.

Question: apparently the recoil has been greatly reduced (or so I've heard). . . how much? In v1.3 the colt's 1st two-three bullets when crouching were very accurate long range, the ak's 1st one-two bullets were very accurate. Has that been changed? A colt who's first 4 bullets are right on target would be lethal! Face it: One burst at any range will kill the opponent! Every colt would be an AWP! Previously it took two bursts to kill an opponent, whether it was 3 bullets, then 1 from a colt, or 2 burst of 2 bullets from an ak (ruling out headshots in both cases) but if this has been changed . . . I hope and pray I'm exgaggerating . . .
