hey Ejekt... the things u wrote about payers in the 3rd floor in the mall, i agree with u. But this does not mean that all emirates palyers are in the way u described. U didnt mention anything about the other game net cafe in the lower floor and i think coz u didnt play there. There's a great difference between us and if u played with us u 'll see this difference. i agree 100% about the things u said about them and we see them as u mention. But next time visit us downstares and u'll see the differece. By the way, were having a tournament...if u have a team come and goin. ll=- SILENT -=ll ][) 12 @ G {} N

Yeah, there's an skating rink on the first floor, and the food court is two floors up. Those guys are right, though, no McDs.

hey Basel...when u visit us again here in alain, dont come alone ..bring your team and get ready to be defeated. The same goes on u Ejekt, instead of writing articles of our''poor playing''as u minshened, try to improve your playing coz from what i heared from players who saw u playing tells me that ur not as good as u think...and am sure there r hundreds of players here in alain that play better than u. SO if u want to say anything about our playing, FIRST come and play with us face to face and THEN if u defeated us ""and i dont think soo""u can write as much articleas as u want.By the way my clan's name is SILENT if u want to play against us.

I know similar comments have already been posted, but I just can't help feeling that your statements about UAE were way out of line. You make remarks about a country that was 'hosting' you as a visitor - it seems that you were quite happy to visit there - and on a forum that I do not believe is aimed at discourse of this nature. Isn't it enough that the world is at odds and that people are fighting each other... without bringing such issues onto this site? I also have to say that as a British person I would be more than happy to gain employment in UAE and to live there and be 'bossed' around. I have observed that American affiliate students who come to study at British universities all have cell phones and insist on answering them whatever they may be doing, but I still would not make sweeping assumptions about the USA from this or any other element of their behaviour.

Hmmm, I would consider your observations about cell phones to be fine fodder for analysis ... Do you deny the importance of the nation as a cultural boundary, one that shapes ideology, behavior, and habitus? I certainly don't. We in the US get fed all kinds of crap through the media and through culture at large, and it certainly impacts all the above. Step across the border to Mexico, and there's a whole different cultural system. And I'm certain other places -- different places -- incur the same processes upon their citizenry. I mean, why do Americans, in general, answer their cell phones wherever and whenever they please?

Or better, why do Americans like myself feel they can make sweeping generalizations about other peoples? And why did this article seem to please so many American readers (see above...) An imperialist mindset? A mindset that ... seemingly ... corresponds to national boundaries !?! Could it be true?

Your penchant for chasing down racism makes it too difficult to talk about difference.

I'm sorry, but financial concerns will prevent me from assembling a clan and flying them to Al-Ain. It'll have to be ten on one I guess.

haha, man i dunno when u ignorant americans will get some brains, i can say a lot here but ill stick to CS. I being a pakistani and being part of the CS scene here since three yrs went to US a couple of months back and where i went i kicked some amercan butt.... at CS that is. That didnt make me create a general perception about the gamers there in America. This is an open challenge to all the American Clans, play CS against our top clans and well we will teach you something about it. Shut the crap Ejekt and if you didnt make any racist remarks then you would not have been justifying yourself after that article. Its your fault that you found a gaming zone where people were still learning, that proves a lot about you and your sissiness. If you had the guts to even play a few stories down you would have gotten your 10 dirhams worth of azz-whooping

                                hey everyone,

this was an interesting article but i find it kind of surprising. I have lived in Kuwait for a lvery long time now and there is basically nothing to do here but play cs. Most of the friends i have here do nothing but play cs online during weekdays and then play cs in gaming cafes during the weekend. it surprising how differently people in Kuwait play than the people EjeKt saw. Ive seen of the best players in ever in Kuwait. They dont care what team they play on and play on any map with any weapon and not one of them cheats. Some gaming cafes do have lots of cheaters and cheap computers with messed up textures and dumb players. But the better gaming cafes have high end computers with amazingly cool people that play there. Everyone in the cs community here knows each other and i find it weird that things are so different in the uae. A local gaming cafe called the dungeon is also planning on hosting the top clan in Kuwait to (hopefully) go to tournaments around the middle east and hopefully send them to the states for some tournaments like the cpl. All in all i think this was an interesting article but im pretty sure that EjeKt just was unfortunate enough to stumble accross one of the lower end gaming cafes becuase ive played online with people from the uae and they are definitly nothing like the people described in the article. Although they are all filthy rich :P
