Yeah I think you emiratis should give EjeKT a break. I think he presented what he saw in a real anthropological way and simply wrote about what he saw. What he shouldn't have done was assume that the rest of the freaking country played counterstrike that way. And the dude just mentioned stuff about Emirati player preference he didn't outright say that Emirati dudes were terrorists. Anyways why the hell does it matter anyways. Is the way people play Counterstrike a reflection on the society as a whole? Ejekt you gotta be more careful bout what you say cause most folks interpret it the wrong way. Especiually bout that soldier shit which most people are thinking alludes to real life or that terrorist thing. Anyways, all noobs play with the arrow keys. When I was a noob I played all of Half-Life, Day of Defeat 1.2-2.0, and firearm,s with the arrow keys before making hte switch. Anyways...

Natural Selection is better. You all gotta try it.

Nice article, EjeKt. Very interesting and it didn't read like a checkers strategy! Well not yet...

I guess I found the parts which commented on the different culture more interesting than the actual ``CS parts'' but it was still a good read. The parallel between how some kids play CS and how the nation would fight in war is a bit of a stretch but anyway...

Mouth, my 32 page thesis on why I enjoyed reading the article is in the mail.

Oh yeah and you Emirati's gotta know that we may have a higher crime rate than other deveoped countries but that's no reason to go and outright assume that there's a school shooting every other day. That's a pretty weird stereotype and it's just as bad as anything Americans might say bout middle easterners. Kinda like racism in itself. No one said anything about you guys being evil.

The Guys from U.S. will striclty get back to Earth if they went to a Netcafé in Germany. So long.
I'm not american myself, (go Canada!, Eh?) but even though I get 300 pings on German servers, they always seem to play well and as a team, and they're usually pretty cool people but...

            They can't aim.

Or maybe it's cause of my 300 pings.... I always get killed by people with bad pings when I have a good one. Stupid netcode.

I do think some people are being to critical of him. He only went to one LAN, and although some people might call it poor research skills, I think he did the best he could with what he had.

I mean, once I went into a computer game store in a mall in beijing (without a prostitute), and the clerk was playing counter-strike with bots on his comp. I got bored after a while, since most of the games are non-descript korean games I've never heard of, so I asked the guy if I could play some CS.

Now, those of you who have seen me play on the clownhut over the summer know I suck, and this guy seemed pretty doubtful of my skills. Then I killed an entire team of bots with a sig commando without taking A SINGLE POINT OF DMG. From then on, I regard chinese CS players as newbies

My cousin in china is getting into CS now, and hes never told me about CS, but he has told me about him playing delta force on the LAN. From what I hear, everyone sucks, even tho he thinks otherwise

That's possibly the longest thing RZE's ever posted, comment-wise.

But yes, Mouth is a frequent let's-go-against-the-grain-because-I-can type of poster. A forum troglodyte. And although some of his posts are funny and/or have a point - a good 90% of the time he's just ranting to rant.

Not saying I don't love you mouth. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

                Now to the article:

Overall, I thought it was well written and creative. Very seldom do I see something that I enjoy reading past the obvious punch line on CSN. I'm sure Rizzuh & friends work hard at what they do... It's just hard coming up with ideas day after day after day (see the mailbags for your justification) and keep it fresh.

But anyways, It's time for sl33p here in California

Whenever a counter strike player joins the game, and if he is aware of the game senses, he would just spectate and join the team that balances the skillz. THIS AUTHOR IS TALKING TOTAL BULLSHIT. AND LOOKS LIKE HE IS A TOTAL RACIST. You should not just judge peoples intentions by looking at their game playing skillz. It's all the weaponary that's saving these US army people, but not their skillz. So, don't be such a dumb to judge people wrong.

                    hello writer,

First i will comment about your article, i think its a load of bullshit. When i read about what u wrote about my country i didnt enjoy it much however u say u are an average player i dont think so at all i think u are a just like those kid u played with and u call them newbies beacuse any cs player as soon as he gets in the game he will see how much money he has, suprising u can read and write but u cant make out the difference between $800 and $16,000 that why you bought a desert eagle without armor.... and by the way next time u visit a place or a country i think u should go to the city first to see the true colour of a country not to a small place where people have just stared to playing CS. " Dont think because u are an American your can just come here and write about our country, thinking u are all that!!!!

Do your self and me a favour, since u think we a newbies why dont you get your best player down to our country and we will see.

By the way there is a big difference when people play on lan and when they play in a Tournement.

It's not about the specific players and skills, it's about an entire mentality that is being reflected by cs.

... I'm not sure I follow your argument here ... I knew how much money I had, and anytime I see an AWM in the first round I understand that other players have more money than I do, and maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I call this "cheating." What do you call it? Perhaps you can restate your point.

Well I most certainly do think that! I did go over there, I did write an article, and I put it up in a public place for your perusal and critique. I've been receptive to all comments, I've rethought my own position on the topic, and I've enjoyed the entire experience. Not only did I write about your country, but I'm encouraging you to address the same issues here. I want to hear your opinions. Have you played in the U.S. or Europe? How did it differ from play in the UAE? And did you read comment #104? If not, please scroll up!

Damn, dude, that sounds horrible! Yeah, I remember you, and I remember you kicking my ass here and there. I didn't realize you guys had just started playing, and because it's my mistake, I'm going to give you a chance for revenge. I'm in the states now, but I'll be passing through Al-Ain in a couple of months, and I'll stop by the cafe, put down my 10 dirham, and see what you guys have learned in the last six months, lol! From the sounds of it, I'll be fresh off my humiliation in Dubai.
