Also, maps in general favor terrorists. The AK is a more powerful gun than the M4, and if you've ever played a map like assault or milita you know how easy it is for even a decent T team to dominate. On de maps, although they're designed for CTs to take the defensive, the AK is enough of a force that it still gives a good T team a fighting chance. Most of the time, when I play CS, the terrorists win on any map, including the ones everyone apparently feels are completely unbalanced.

I think it's a little unfair that they are keeping the RS and they took out the molotov. I was really looking forward to that... for example on dust, it would have been perfect for rushing into B, just throw molotovs at each of the choke points on a rush, and then you only have to worry about the one... it would have made things a lot easier for the terrorists. Plus throwing a molotov at some idiot with his riot shield and seeing him burn alive would have been freakin awesome.

as long as it is illegal in CAL and shit i coudn't care less about this sheild, BUT if it is legal it just made league play EXTREMELY unbalanced in the already favored CT side.



just think of 2 CT's holding a postion, one with a sheild the other with an AWP, so lame, fuck that.

Lol @ people saying riot shield is gonna be unbalanced, most likely when you have one you're gonna move slow plus if they want the game to make any sense at all you aren't gonna be able to stick it in your pocket then start running with your knife like everyone does with rifles. Also all the person with the riot shield has is a handgun. On public servers i don't think you're gonna see many people using the riot shield and having guys huddle behind it to get though an area.

Oh yeah and if the little window is breakable and you're forced to look through it awp whores are gonna have lots of "BS HS"

I find it funny that people are so sure that it will/will not be balanced, when it has yet to see any actual gameplay. Let's judge it when it comes out. I think it has potential, but we shall see.



I still say the bombing maps aren't CT-favoured. Generally the CTs have two different bomb sites to guard, and so the forces are pretty spread out. Combine that with the fact that very few people actually bother defending the bomb sites, and choose instead to rush and die, and I'd have to say that most de maps are evenly balanced (aztec), if not biased towards the Ts (dust2).



Also, Ts should be able to pick up shields from dead CTs, correct?

Yeah, the riot shield is amazing. But what really waits me is the FAMAS. When CT lose the first round, ninety-nine percent of the time, they will lose the rest of the round. This is because T's can afford the powerful AK-47 rifle, which can be devastating to CT who can only afford an MP5, as rizzuh said. Unless the T's shooting around the AK like a manic and CT's places their mp5 ammo in the T's head, the CT's will go down tight. This ain't Rainbow Six guys. With the addition of FAMAS, CT will be able to more effectively defend against the cheap, powerful AK-47s. Since it uses the same ammunition as the M4, It will become the great alternative to M4 If you don't have or trying to save cash. It is basically the same as M4, only without the silencer.



The T's new rifle Galil will benefit some average users who can't shoot AK-47 accurately. Since AK-47 becomes freakin inaccurate when u try to shoot this more than 4 shots, and Galil is supposed to be little more accurate, this Galil should be a good rifle to those who despise AKs. The T's won't lose much firepower because its ammunition is comparable to M4A1, Aug, and SG552.



The CS 1.6 will balance out the unbalanced part of the gameplay. I'm looking forward to it

is this news bit about the riot shield or your bad english? i think its crap though, the rs and all. i mean they go for realism, sort of, with jump inhibitors and stuff but a shield that can be shot thats fucking gay im sorry. although i will most likely be forced to accpet i feel its my duty to bitch about it. also lets look at the set up, a ct is behind some guy with a shield. a t pops out and he tries to kill the cts. even if he can shoot the ct's feet, how good is that? while doing like 3dmg per shot the other ct can own him. im sorry but its stupid, stupid and stupid.

Bah, the Rs is destin to be another lost weapon in the arsenal of CS. If I can HS with AWP how hard could it be to HS through some stupid peep hole? Everyone is worried that a CT awper will now be able to take cover behind a RS holding CT, how is this any diff than some AWPer taken cover behind a crate or wall? He still has to stick out his head to shoot, and when he does he is MINE.



My only concern is the children who find fun in fustrating us. I can picture some maggot backing into a corner holding his shield as to not be killed and force everyone to wait for 3 minutes till round ends.

I think the shield will be used in the most horrific of ways. I can already see countless counter-terrorists strafing with shields to avoid getting sniped.

It is going to make the "skillful"-Steyr-Scout less useful.

Also, I really(my English teacher would kill me if she saw this) do not like how AWP will not be able to penetrate the shield at all.

If you can use any handgun with the riot shield, it can become pretty cheap in my biased(as always:)) opinion.

I don't know if anyone's noticed, but the number of strafe-happy-spray-and-pray newbies has increased substantially, while the number of calm, crouchers' numbers gone down dramatically. An underhanded tactic I already see, is a group of counter-terrorists snuggling in a corner of a map by a bombsite, waiting for the terrorists, and then popping out, strafing, while the terrorists wastes their clips in a panic, and the counter-terrorists, being smart, little jerks, spinning out their fresh desert eagles, and killing reloading terrorists.

I say, "Nay," to the riot shield, but a, "Maybay," to the new weapons.

It won't be fun rewriting my binds.
