I'm disappointed with many of the people who have commented on this situation so far.



You take a situation where someone has been shot, possibly over an argument spawning from a video game. And you try to make jokes about it. "Ha ha, this is so funny, a leg shot..."



You people disgust me. Likely the only reason that guy got shot in the leg is simply because the other one didn't intend to kill him, but did want to harm or disable him. If the report of the crowbar/gun situation is true (which we don't know), then the idiot with the gun could have easily been defending himself from having his skull bashed in. Or perhaps he just wanted to make the other person hurt badly, without having murder charges, who knows.



It's not just California where this could have happened, though there's certainly more people packing guns in California than in many other states, but Texas, Florida, and several other states have very high percentages of people who carry guns as well. It's not so much about where, though, as what type of people. Dumb, young kids who haven't figured out what they simply should not do.



Point is, it looks like anger from a video game has lead to serious physical consequences. I've had people face to face threaten to beat me up at my old college over CS on LAN, but luckily it has never gone to the point of anyone pulling a weapon on me. I'm not one who favors violence in real life, but unfortunately some people don't know how else to deal with frustration.



If you have these kinds of issues dealing with your anger, you should never, never go to a LAN center, or anywhere else where there are victims for you to take out your anger on. You should also seriously consider giving up these kinds of games completely, because anything that causes that level of anger is not healthy for you.



As for the rest of us, I think it's really sickening that people to try and make jokes about this kind of issue, and especially that some of the people who represent CSN are doing this. I really hope I don't have to wade through any more of the insensitive crap spewing from a few mouths in here. Thanks to the few of you who didn't post so immaturely.

I went to my first and only LAN so far in November. Wow, I got crushed in the pubs even. There were like 2 or 3 pubs varying from 5 to 20 people on the LAN and even when playing iceworld they'd shoot you in the head before you had time to stop strafing. It was frustrating to not even be 1-1 or close to it sometimes but feh. That's why I have single player games installed. I mean when it stops being fun and you have other things you could do then do those instead.
