cs 1.6: hands-on

I meen i havent heard a WORD about 1.6. Just that it will be out the same time as cz : cs ... I just went to csnation to look around.

When i suddenly saw the news about beta release thuseday.

im a noob when it comes to the beta thing, if i download it will i still be able to play on 1.5 servers, or are all the servers gonna be upgraded to b1.6? is there gonna be a non - beta version released after this?

Gee... so the new scoreboard.... Let us assume u're a CT. You freak around a bit and then your teammate kills a T, who throws out a grenade and kills the CT. So... now You push the "tab" or whatever button your "+showscores" is binded to. If the initial teams are 10x10 what will you see in your scorebord.

1) 9 T's and nine 9 CT's - dunno

2) 10 CT's (one dead) -imho wrong

3) 9 CT's - dunno

4) another one

As most players do, i have a lot of custom models and skins in place of the defaults, as well as a buy script and several other scripts.

I'm wondering if this is going to cause problems when Steam "installs" 1.6 or if it will just overwrite.

Anyone?

How I figure it, I'll just try it out for a while and then come up with a informed decision on how I feel about the changes. It it a human trait that people don't accept change very well - even when that change is good.



CS could use a few new changes anyways to keep it interesting.

Well, guess i'll post my thoughts on the changes.

*3 frags award for defuse/plant

I didn't like how some players would run around with the bomb and not plant. Or how Ct's fail to defuse because they don't want to lose their gun. 3 frags award would emphasize more on objectives rather than "team deathmatch"



*Scoreboard hide

You do know that Goosemen worked on Action Quake 2? In Aq2, the alive/dead list was removed to add more suspense to the game. And why would anyone care about the other person's score? CS has always been scored by Team wins, not kills.



*Riot Shield

I don't think that its hard to kill someone with a riot shield, considering that they are slower and more prone to flank attacks. Team work is where its at if you want to use/defeat a riot shield.

You think with the shield, people can group together and make one giant wall, then fire on command... How does it work exactly? If I'm running at an AWPer, will it keep my sweet ass safe?

Hopefully, the +3 frags for planting will reduce "some" of the camping, which I'm sure was the intent of the change.

I think if used properly, the riot shield is going to piss off/eliminate alot of the awp whores. riot shield+deagle could make for some fun rushing tactics.

HULLO THERE PEEPS, well this is my first post and WHAT A POST EH!!??!?! 1.6! fanny tastic, were gonna get more spaced than Neil Armstrong ever did!! 1.6 is messin with my delicate energy, its norin me fackin wigwam im a skyhighatrist and i want 100,000 miles of intergalactic spaceyness from CS 1.6. My ball sacks as big as Rik Wallers belly and i canny wait no MORE CS 1.6 WE WANT U NOW! THE PEOPLE DEMAND 1.6.

I answer your "rant" with another question...since when has brutally murdering someone in real life like you would in CS gurantee you even ONE point? there are no points in real life, or real war, which is probably why this is a game. Get a life and realise that.

Agreed only a game and shudnt b confused with real life..although this doesnt mean u shudnt get excited. Thing is its a beta and this will prob b changed much like a great deal of other things. Not to mention that servers will prob have admin mods that change the ammout of "Scored Points" u get from planting and succesfully "exploding the bomb" or even stopping any such scoring, so try not to worry ur mind since this may change on not to mention that u have an equally as good chance of getting 3 points if u plant and explode the bomb....or mayb thats not good enuff and ud like 3 points for defusing the bomb or again is that not the full "realism ud like".

For more realism go call number 10 in london and threaten to blow them up and let the SAS come get u then u can have all the realism u want.
