cs 1.6: hands-on

Anyone know if you need regular cs installed to have steam 1.6 beta? or will it be like steam 1.0?

oh. sweet. im used to the 100+ meg updates. thanks for hte feed back, you're the bestest rizzuh. another question... is there going to be a map pack availible so we dont have to download the map the first time we connect every time, waiting is annoying, i would rather just wait for a pack once, and not wait every time i play a map for the first time. :/

I'm not enthusiastic about that scoreboard thing either, not just because you can't see how many players are left but more importantly who is left, I certainly am aware that rizzuh has a different playing style than narby for instance, and try to adapt that, in fact even when I see that someone like narby or rizzuh (edit: or lafty) is the only player dead I can relax a lot, eheh

I think everyone thinks the shield is going to be useless. I think it might be usefull if you lose the pistol round as cts. I dont know if it would help, but im sure the cal-i people will find a trick to it and make it usefull.
