? Didn't I say that?
Maybe "derived" is the wrong word, please excuse me in that case :)
Somebody please be so kind and post an email address where to send Steam bug reports. Couldn't find one on www.steampowered.com...
edit: My english is indeed worse than I thought: I meant "they're both derived..." of course...
To Steam or not to Steam?

In Canada, 1% of 1.2 million cheaters = 12,000 cheaters, not 120,000 cheaters.
There are at least 4-5 sites (In english) which are constantly updated on new haxs, which will get around various people. With the cs community as large as it is, even if we were to say 1% of people cheat, that isill, according to the 1.2 million players a day through gametiger,(previous comment stat) we are looking at 120 thousand cheats a day!
You Brits have Euro math now?

If anyone wants to know where the leak started.
Bozer from CSCentral, who posted here earlier, posted the file on his site before getting permission from Valve. Later, Seb deleted the post and e-mailed Doug about the link. The link was, hours later, put up on the mirrors page of the Steam website, which was a dumb error.
The main leak came from CSCentral's main page (bozer's post). People downloaded it and then spread it via IRC. Later, people downloaded it from the link on the Steam website which I guess wouldn't be a "leak" but the pre-approval post was obviously a leak. The file wasn't released by Valve, it was sent to members of the press. I don't see how posting about it could be anything other than a leak, bozer. Sorry if I have too much experience with common sense or running a site effectively.bozer wrote..
No one blames the failed launch on the leak, but to act like there wasn't a leak is your second journalistic failure. Keep on trying, bozo.
Not the fault of people leaking it. It was released on purpose, not leaked.Comment

I personally haven't seen more than 2 cheaters in the past month, and only one of those was for sure. The other was going from one end to the other.

SNAP!, looks like sPaNk beat me, but I guess throwing an American perspective in is never a bad thing, eh?Comment

Ya, if you see a lot of cheaters here and there it probably means that you need to work on your CS skills to be honest.
That doesn't mean there aren't cheaters all around us. Since absolutely no one knows that I won't claim either way, but if you're good enough they shouldn't be an issue. Most "real" hacks like the aimbot and stuff are dead within a day or two, requiring the cheater to constantly update. I highly doubt many would want to be involved in a rat race like that, so I personally believe that cheating is very unpopular now.Comment

I hate steam. Seriously i want to call them and bitch them out for making such a buggy, RAM Devouring, Laggy unstable piece of garbage.
They do need to work on TF2 and stop messing around with this RAM melting software. Witch by the way has NO point what so ever. Next time when they want to release a beta, do it as a patch. I see no obligatory quote as to why they use this awful excuse of a program to do the job that needs to be done. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and BITCH SLAP THAT MOTHERFUCKER upside the head.

thanks to cmdrflesh with for the straight dope.
thanks for the updates to your maps Narby. i have played the new inferno and aztec: same great gameplay, cool new look. they make CS look like a different game.
Narby, does the software/gl-mode "cheat" effect only certain types of walls in CS? i have only heard of it on awp-city and scoutzknivez.
i bet if the mapper (of the above maps) knew about this he/she would have used a different wall texture.
sorry this is getting off topic.Comment

How about this, next time if you don't want to deal with bugs, don't download the BETA. I didn't. And as a result I don't really care if Valve screwed up. I'm going to wait until the final version comes out, and if there are inexcusable bugs included with that download, then I will be angry. If not, great. It's pointless to whine now. And if I here that "slap that motherfucker upside the head" thing one more time... I'm going to.. do.. nothing, except get frustrated.
