    I suck wrote..

eg. Many fights start becos someone was pissed off by another person. And fights can easily escalate into murder or if incidental, manslaughter.
This was premeditated murder plain and simple. Was not, Spur of the moment thing. The kids left came back a while later with a weapon then proceeded to beat and murder him.

I'm a bit tired of people saying well "it escalates and one thing leads to another and in the spur of the moment someone gets hurt" This is not even the same as the analogy about Road Rage, because Road-rage is spur of the moment.

Those kids left and came back with the intention to murder him. Its not like they accidentally beat him to death. The people responsible need to be incarcerated for the rest of their lives if not put to death them selves.

#90 is true. Man i feel bad for that guy. I think people need to start playing games more relaxed. I know it makes me mad when i lose, but i remember, ITS JUST A GAME. So theres a message to all of you whom have Road-Rage on CS. It's suppose to be fun. Not to shoot each other over! I remember the good old days when people use to say "good job dude your kicking my ass you rock!" Now there like.. "Fucking kill me in the game and ill shoot you for real." Not good everyone. Wheres the love?

          First off, RIP Kwee.

Next, the whole Vancouver thing. Vancouver, Washington is what, 4-5 hours away from Vancouver, British Columbia? Anyway, if people only read the quoted sections, they wouldn't have seen the references to B.C. in the article itself. I knew immediately, but that's only because I'm familiar with the Globe and Mail, which, as far as Canadian newspapers go, is typically pretty good.

As far as murder rates go, Canada doesn't have near the population that the USA has. In general, from what I've seen and heard, Canada seems to have far less ghetto areas and huge cities. When you look at America's crime rates, unfortunately you see rather high levels of violence in the poor areas of big cities, way out of proportion with the rates of smaller cities. My city of 150,000 has had under 10 murders in the past 5 years, and that includes all types of weapons. L.A., however, had well over 500 murders last year alone. It's not just guns that allow for high murder rates... you also have to consider the types of people who are willing to kill.

I could really go off on this subject, but there's others to do that for me. I'll leave you with this thought, however.

Get between a crack addict and their next hit, and you can prepare for serious trouble. Why? They do crack because they want a certain feeling it gives them. It fills a need they have in some way. Deny them the ability to fill that need, and they'll do just about anything within their power to get it back.

There are certain needs people have that Counter-Strike can fill. CS isn't the only thing that can fill it, but then again, crack isn't the only thing that can give you certain feelings, either. But CS can and does provide certain things that some people desire. For some people, CS can fill their need to feel like they're good at something, like they have control over some area of their life.

Play so well against them that you deny them any possibility of feeling good about themselves, and you've taken away their fix. They don't have what they need anymore. And a few, a very few, will do just about anything to make sure they can get that need filled again.

What makes me think the most is the fact that I've had 3 guys approach me, ready to do me physical harm after a few games of CS, one of which I went 35-1 against them. I have to stop and think about how far they might have been willing to go. Perhaps I should feel very lucky that none of them decided to bring a gun.

I know a lot of you won't like my thought about filling needs, but it was only that: just a thought...

Just skimmed through a few of these comments, I have noticed at least 3 people trying to justify the murder. HOW can you possibly think that the poor kid deserved any kind of harm because of his behaviour in a game?

Some moron said 'I wouldn't kill somone for being lame, but if it was hacking it would be a different story'. If you were joking, bad time. If you were serious, then think about it for a couple more seconds. How can anything related to computer games justify an injury/death?

Canada has much higher gun ownership, but they have way less gun-related violence
Really? I saw half of the movie and they showed some statistics, but I didn't see that Canadians had more guns then Americans, all I heard was that there are enough guns in the US for every signle person to have 3. Are you sure about that?

good work nighthawk. especially about CS can give someone good times in life. The problem is, sometime a good CS player is bragging too much and make other people mad. That when accident like in the story can happened.

RIP for Kwee. Hope the justice will be done.

because if they weren't 18...all they can get is 10 years in prison/juvenile insitute...

it could be a racially motivated murder seeing as the guy was asian...

and on another note, why is this story in the 'general' section? maybe csnation should add a 'murders & cs related violence' article section.
