You've completely missed the point, unfortunately. The big fuss is not that buy menus have been changed. They did that with the initial beta of 1.6, and we got used to it. The problem is that menus are not similar when you're a CT vs. when you're a T.



For instance, as a Terrorist, buying the 3rd weapon under Rifles (b-4-3) buys you a Scout; as a CT, the same key combo buys you an M4A1. There are several other examples I could use, but that in and of itself gets the point across.



Before, I could bind one key to buy me say, either an M4A1 or an AK47, depending on what side I was on. Now, you have to use different keys on different sides to buy the same weapon. THIS is a really bad screw-up in the ordering of the buy menus, and needs to be fixed.



As far as your whole AK47/M4A1 argument you boys are having, both are damn good guns if you know what you're doing. The M4 is definitely much more accurate at full auto, while the AK has that nice extra power that makes long range bursting very deadly. IMHO, M4A1 is more friendly to beginners, but experts will find the AK47 to be at least an equal to it. When you think about it, both guns will typically kill anything with a headshot + 1 other hit, which is what you're more prone to doing as you gain skill. At that point, they're performing rather comparably. Given the AK's price, however, it's a definite advantage to the T's in CS1.5 that CS1.6 has shaken up quite a bit.

A shield for a CT is right. Now with the Galil available at only 2k, this shield is a freaking godsend. Ts can lose on the 1st round and still can get an assault rife, while Cts cant.

about the ak47 > m4a1 and the m4a1 > ak47, im cool bout them. it's juz a matter of preference. i use either, n still can achieve the same results...(Thnx to a recent artical on HShotting posted here! me now uses sensitivity 1.7! go read 'em up! :)



the shield can b problematic as it has some sort of lingering (wateva) effect. later in the game, money aint a problem no? but, still, ct's HAVE a shield. sure, buggy n all now... wat about after fixes and after ppl start to know how to use them? t's can b a little "outpowered" by it. oppressed i would say...

the shield isnt that big of a deal. just go around them or sneak up from behind. And i think the new buy menus are stupid. Put them back to the way they were before. Maybe weaken the galil a little more so i have a reason to buy an AK too. That would be nice...

It's pretty difficult to go around a shield user in hallways and doorways present on most maps. Once it's bugs are all fixed a good shield user could potetially take no damage in a round at all.

is it just me, or is the Galil a spray weapon? i can't hit anything with single shots using it. if i use it like a SMG it works pretty good.

A source inside Vivendi Universal has informed me that VALVe is performing maintenance on the servers, and therefore WON will be down temporarily. He also disclosed that today VALVe would be taking over all Half-Life main servers, which explains the downtime.
