    VAC Update

A new VAC module has been released which finally attempts to fix the errors that occur on a Linux server after an automatic VAC upgrade. The module, in addition with a beta server (http://files.valve-erc.com/ - login & pass: server_beta) should end the annoying bugs which cause clients to have an unpleasant experience after an upgrade.

    VAC Update

VALVe has released another update to its anti-cheat. This round features new cheat detections. Your server will update automatically.[break="eric smith's email"]
*** This only affects Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat servers. ***

We've updated the public security modules again. Your Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat servers should update themselves automatically.

These security modules have some new cheat detections.

Let me know if you have any problems with the security modules and we'll look into them right away. Thanks.

      VAC Update

Eric Smith has alerted the mailing list that a new Security Module has been released. All he says is more cheats are being detected, but not which ones.[break="click for the e-mail"]*** This only affects Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat servers. ***

        VAC Update

I know you all LOVE Steam and VAC, so let's get straight to the update.
        • a few bug fixes, including the timeout bug at login.

        • minor performance enhancements.

        • new detections.
Sorry this one took so long, there was a lot of internal restructuring that had to happen in this release that required more testing than usual.
More Information is available here. Get on with your playing!

Does the error occur on Windows servers too? ... cause that's what I play on mostly, but Disk2 is always sure to restart the server the same minute the update happens, before I can try to cheat on the new update.

VALVe has not seen any Windows servers crash after updating the VAC. I always restart CSR's server just to make sure, but it really isn't necessary.

VALVe rules! But they said we would get more information about TF2 in the coming months in January.

Not all VAC updates apply to DoD too (at least not the beta modules anyway), but this one does work for DoD too.
