    Levelord Q&A

As Shacknews reported earlier today Levelord, Ritual Entertainment's co-owner and CS:CZ game designer, has been interviewed at Gamehelper.com. You may remember that site from their clever advertising within dust2. Here's a tidbit:
GH: How much of the work done by Gearbox has been scrapped and how much has been kept?

Levelord: I think they will recognize many things, and I think they will be surprised by many more things. As a single statement, this is a VALVe/Ritual project and what the player will see and experience is theirs and ours.

GH: Some of the most talked about new upgrades to the game are the new updated visuals (models and maps) and audio. Can you tell us a bit about what has changed and how you were able to achieve it without affecting game play?

Levelord: There has already been more than one press release about the upgraded assets. The Counter-Strike audience will be well-pleased with the new visuals and such.

The only risk we are taking is bumping up the resolution on all models. Geometry is more complex than the original Counter-Strike, too. The risk is minimal, though, and will only affect the very lowest end of performance platforms.
Read the rest of the interview right here. Plenty of great information.

it takes awhile to make a game, be patient. While you're waiting, may I suggest going outside (the light may hurt at first, its a bit stronger than computer glow) and maybe having a less comuter-balanced life. It really helps everything else, believe me.

Saying anything about "going outside" on a game site is risking ban

Thursday, I never said you didn't, or that anyone didn't go outside for that matter. I just said a less computer-oriented life helps things.

yes, it is easy to say it stupidly and get banned. I was suggesting to farmer brown that instead of waiting, he could do more constructive things, not tryin' to insult him(her?). I believe it is ok. Anyway, your not a moderator so *phht*

people that play CS in software mode currently would qualify (a larger # than you'd think)
