Eco round is just a strategy developed by clans which has become pretty universal in matches where if the clan loses pistol round, they dont buy anything for second round and usually (if its the attacking team) camp it out, waiting for the next round to come by (safer for 2 eco rounds so you have a stable amount of money comin in though for all your buying needs).



The reason for camping it out is because money is distributed based on how you win, which of course you know, but if the time runs out on bomb map, the CTs do win the round but they only get 2000 as opposed to 2750 for defusing or ~2500 for killing all the CTs.



most of hte time the camping is done by all 5 in a large area where they can easily defend themselves (such as on inferno, the spawn, you can boost into window and camp it out). or maybe all 5 will just rush one bombsite and hope they get lucky and win the round (my clan has a thing for that.. in our scrims about 50% of our save round rushes are the win heh)



and its not that most of the people cant handle 5 syllable words (economy is a 4 syllable word..) its that eco is easier/faster to say. try saying eco 3 times fast or even typing it once.. its obviously going to be faster than mm2'ing (messagemode2, teamchat for you who dont know) economy
