As we speculated earlier, narby's infamous de_comrade (recently redone) will be CAL's preseason map for next week's matches. The CAL-invite news page reports that the map can be easily downloaded and that the preseason matches will be Comrade's first test in competitive play. Clans are encouraged to leave match feedback on the CAL forums.
Comrade has had a long history. It was named right here on CS-Nation, by first-time visitor skinner (and for that reason I have long been a supporter of the map). It was passed over by VALVe for CS 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6. Now, I don't know if that means something or not, but I personally always enjoyed the small map's fast pacing. I seriously doubt its ability to play well in clan matches, however. Keep in mind that this version of the map is not be considered final "due to tweaks that may be needed."
