If NASCAR is a sport, then CS is a sport. I mean, come on, they just drive in a circle over and over, except they're going fast! I guess that makes it good? They don't have any personality at all, and no grasp of the English language either. "I'd jess like t'thank gawd an jeesus fer thees greet ween. Anyways, when you watch CS, you don't look at the players, you look at their screen[or watch them over HLTV] so you see the action, you don't watch the coach in football to see their reaction to plays, and then completely ignore the players, do you?
Oh, another thing about the personality. Am I the only one who's seen team rival's movie where Bill Brasky runs around NYC getting his picture taken with a bunch of perfect strangers? And later when he was running around in the hotel bothering the other players? All set to WHAM!'s "wake me up before you go-go?Comment

anyone can play any 'sport' on any given day. that quote is ridiculous. he's basically saying no one is watching the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA etc because we can all go outside an do them ourselves....BS. its the level at which its played, not "if" you can play.
if half of what he says is true, we'd have no professional sports leagues/teams.Comment

I used to be a big GameSpy fan. Until I realized their articles had no merit and were written more for entertainment than education. Who's going to talk about animals bonking and lukewarm softdrinks in a serious eSports article? This guy did no research and probably sits around playing his console games all day. GameSpy is the last critic the eSports world has to worry about...trust me.

seems to me the author of the article doesnt know what he is talking about. the points he makes on why pro gaming sux (no consistency in rules) can also be applied to sports, officials make bad calls all the time. he really didnt cite info either, he was just ranting.
oh and another thing, his #1 reason is that gamers should have fun like pro athletes. um, i remember in one of the olympics (i think 1992), the american basketball team were very friendly with their opponents, except for one player... charles barkley. while his teamates hung out with the other teams, he played the game the same way he plays in america. once again this point doesnt only apply to pro gaming, but to any sport, even life in general, this guy doesnt know what he is talking about.Comment

That's stupid. There's nothing wrong with pro gaming at all. I plan on going pro, after all I play 10-12 hours a day, and have done so for about 6 months now. This guy is just jealous because he's a nub and no one likes him and has a crappy job. And yes, I agree that this article is more for entertainment. Pro gamers only need the gaming community as fans, he's making it sound like pro gamers need the entire community as fans. Grandma isn't going to want to watch games, only people interested in games will be interested, and that's all that matters.Comment
