I don't need read it. Pro gaming IS worthless as a spectator sport. Only people who take it seriously are the participants, and a couple thousand nerds who really need to get a life. The first thing that gamers should do is get rid of the name "clan". I remember when that shit first started appearing in quake. I thought it was stupid then, and it is still stupid. If you would start calling them "teams", it would be one small step toward some kind of credibility. When you introduce someone to pro gaming for the first time and tell them that these are "clans" competing, it immediately, gets the "roll your eyes" reaction.Comment

I somewhat agree with you (Minor) about calling it a sport to overshadow the addiction, but some people just have that much fun with it and strive to be perfectionists (like me) which is why we play for hours on end without break. To be honest, I'm burnt out from all this playing and very little time to recooperate, but I keep practicing because I'm trying to get back to a place of what I thought to be "godly play" so I can perform well in matches/scrims. Call me addicted, I agree, but at least its something I like to do, not because others are doing it but because its fun to have fun wit friends.Comment

Okay, I disagree...pro gaming is great, and you know why? It's a much more realistic goal than pro sports, it's a hell of a lot funner than running in a circle for time, and we ALL can persue that goal.

How is online gaming a much more realistic goal than sports? You mean a much easier goal. Professional athletes work a lot harder to get to where they are. Because professionals can't simply create their own teams like online clans you have to be that much better to make the cut. And because of their amazing talent it's more enjoyable to watch. A finely tuned human body to me is a lot more interesting than a people playing video games. And how is proffesional gaming even a proffesional sport when money is only made if you win tournements? Real proffesional players are paid on a salary that is adjusted by their performance. That makes real proffesional sports an occupation. In gaming to make a living you have to win many events. That's not a realistic way to live if you ask me.Comment
