This drivers update fixes a variety of serious issues.
    that not reason enough? ;\

also, just wanted to say that i think triple buffering might be broken (for OpenGL). ;/ when enabled (with vsync always on), i get 60 fps but i also get image tearing... when off (tripple buffering), it's still 60 fps, but the image is a lot smoother and there is no tearing whatsoever (what vsync is for, eh?).

i used hl to test, so i dunno. ;o

Setting the display resolution to 1024x768 32bpp and running D3D DolphinVS DX8.1 no longer results in display corruption under the Japanese version of Windows XP
you should upgrade because you might run into this bug :P

just another reason why I run nvidia.... integrated drivers, and I have never had any problems with any game with nvidia.. all my friends with ATI are constantly patching when they get a new game, and updateing to fix small problems... Just my opionion but good job ati for fixing a fairly minor problem...

sounds like your monitor has a refresh rate of 60Hz, so with vsync on your computer only displays 60 frames a second (one per refresh)

                  so disable vsync.

i don't want to disable my vsync, i want it on and working, but when i enabled tripple buffering it stops doing it's job (preventing image tearing, which is very visible on an lcd monitor), but still limits fps to 60... meaning it's half-broken or something. ;\

OMG I am so incredibly pissed right now. I returned my 9600pro 128MB card yesterday because of poor performace in cs. I thought it just wasn't gelling with my rig. I e-mailed sierra for some feedback and they gave me some bullshit solution. I KNEW it had to be a driver problem but I returned my card anyhow. Oh well, i'll grab another Radeon after some HL2 numbers come out.

the 60fps cap is most likely because you are running windows xp. there are ample fixes out there. do a search. ive heard decent things about rivatuner. choose wisely though.

there look to be almost thirty issues resolved with these drivers. a lot of the nvidia/ati debate has been won by nvidia people saying that ati drivers are awful. maybe these will even out the debate a bit.

does it fix that annoying thing when I join a game using a server-monitoring program, HL only shows up in the first quadrant of my monitor at 800x600 instead of 1600x1200? well lets try it then... verdict shortly
