I always wondered why your viewpoint in CS came from your chest and not your head but it doesn't, it comes from the barrel of your gun.

UT2k3 CAL has never required pumped up visuals. So what if they require it in CPL? It has nothing to do with CAL.
I'm pretty sure that your post was pretty much directed to me as I was the only one that mentioned not drawing the model makes the game look better I think. You fail to grasp my point I made so let me elaborate. At CPL winter they played with the graphic settings turned to their highest for UT2003 though at other tournaments turning down the graphics tremendously and adding colored models was fine. A small thing like showing your model is more of a graphics tweak than an advantage. If CAL/CPL didn't have that rule I'm sure several cal-i would still have drawmodel on because it's what they're used to. It isn't like Counter-Strike has a redeemer in it that blocks your view as you fight on tiered maps. I can't think of times where I've ever been like, "Dammit, if only I didn't have this usp blocking my view!". Knowing how to tweak your netcode properly is more of an advantage than something like showing a model. Knowing how to do it takes several commands and you have to read about it. It's not as simple as a visual on off variable. To sum it up, you are incorrect.

While I understand your stupid argument, it is stupid and not worth considering. Angel Munoz is not thinking to himself, "Holy hell in Christ's kitchen, what if CNN films Ksharp while he's playing a CAL-i match???? Frank, order drawviewmodel to 1!"
An example of a weapon that can block a significant portion of your screen is the M3 Super 90. Whether or not you think this is valid is irrelevant. The fact is the rule exists and likely for a reason; completely making up a reason (and in the process relating two separate games in two separate leagues with two separate rulings) is mindless and is in the usual Gpig-the-stupid-moron fashion. Shut up, jackass.
Update #2: There are claims that in the latest version of WWCL, cl_bob 0 isn't even blocked. This line, however, appears in the CAL WWCL config: wwclconfig_check "cl_bob" "0.01". It's not clear at this point whether a) the server was even running WWCL, b) cl_bob is not allowed in CAL play, or c) WWCL was intentionally.he said he used r_drawviewmodel not cl_bob. meaning that shit's irrelevant, unless of course he lied.
rizzuh wrote..It isn't more of a graphical tweak in the sense of right handed, left handed, and showing no model. If it ever infact did block your view and you considered it a problem you could easily change hands from right to left but I haven't seen a config that had binds to do so which would lead you to believe nobody considers it a big enough problem to have keys dedicated to it. Surely a cal-i player, a league with players that have it every key bound to change the color of the crosshair, would have some that find it necessary to bind keys to switch to right or left handed models.

Gpig wrote..So because the CPL has mandatory settings for UT which they do not use in CAL, the mandatory setting for CS is used in CAL for the same reason that it is used in the CPL which is for the same reason that the UT settings are used even though they aren't used in CAL but it's for the exact same reason.
The reason I used UT2K3 CPL as an example is because it is a very good example.
