Cheaters: ICBM. dedicated, realize that this IS a war.
Oh, so that's why valve is using paid employees to put an end to cheating. Valve fully knows that this is an ongoing struggle.
Have for the most part won this war with ease and I have no reason to believe they will stop winning it now that valve has "gotten serious" ha what a joke.
    1. Cheaters have won a war? What war? The one where they release private cheats that only a few people know about that can get around VAC?

    2. Again, Valve is very serious about this. You can tell because they're spending valuable time and resources on it.
For 3 years have been after the fact trying to stop cheats with close to ZERO real results. They have honestly never stopped cheats and this is with their code and what they supposedly do for a living.
    1. I guess you're ZERO results is a throw back to the 1.3 days. Last time I checked, it is A LOT better than 1.3 as cheating goes.

    2. They've stopped OGC. And before you say differently, have you even heard of a new OGC version even being developed since the last one was effectively stopped?

So I may be naive, but at least I'm not a complete dolt and have no grasp of the current situation like you.

Yes your right this is a war however VALVe has the better equipment.

you seem to forget just like you have spies we have spies as well.

every time me and the others find a cheat site we both send VALVe and olo the files and web urls. they've known about UC for a long time now and some of those vac proof cheats arent vac proof anymore. Even if VALVe gave up tommorrow we'd still have HL-Guard. You seem to think this it is just one group. Just look at RTcW built with anti-cheats and punkbuster. cant wait to see you guys hack CS:CZ because just like RTcW CS:CZ will come with anti-cheats built in so will CS2 Your hacking dies here at normal Half-life since most new games are learning from past mistakes and adding anti-cheats soon you will be forty still playing classic cs thinking your good because you hack how sad.

Makes you wonder why VALVe never came up whit a brand new engine.

One with less files to "Tamper" with...or something other than a

              user-friendly mod.

The fact the most files can be modified and rearranged (Skins, sounds, wads etc!) does not help.

Hey Valve, howz 'bout fixing the hang up on map changes with XP, or the changing servers crash for 98. Those are real fun.

The days of 1.3 are kind of like the reign of the Empire in Star Wars. We saw those days approaching in the final months of 1.2, when cheaters were starting to go from very rare to uncommon. 1.3 servers were overrun the dark days were here. 1.4 showed promis of better days, but the trend of new cheat, new VAC update started to emerge. 1.5 We're living in that trend, but I prefer it to the days of 1.3

Spoonman does have tone thing right, CS as far as the cheater population has really gone down. I saw only one obvious wallhack in the past week and only questioned the play of a handful. That is much better than the paranoid 1.3.

I mentioned in another post that the only true way to stop cheating is to enforce a hard ban (on a scale of months) while simultaneously "hard-coding" a check for all currently known cheats. This will cut the cheating crowd down by an enormous number.

The reason that beating all cheats by any other way is impossible lies in the fact that a good cracker could cause the VAC to report "no cheats found" no matter what Valve did. It's a simple fact. Every computer program with copy protection, even dongle protected, has been cracked; it just takes time. So far the cheat producers haven't had to resort to this sort of thing and I admit that it takes more skill, but they can and will if need be.

are you a complete moron? Hardcore cheaters have tons and tons of different WON IDs and they can change their IPs on a whim. There is no way for a complete ban.

I think we should trust valve and not question their decisions, because they're most likely smarter than we are and know the code better than we do. So I guess we should leave the criticisms to the professionals.
