WAAAH! That's about all I can say for these bitches that want 1.3 back.

I've been playing since the Beta 5 days when the p90 ruled the earth - it got nerfed and I miss the pwnage that I always had with it - but I will not ask them to change it back - that is what stupid unflexible people do. I have since found new weapons that I can get that kind of ownage with.

As the good book by Dr. Dennis Leary reads, "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

Couldn't Narby make a new version of the map w/o all the stuff some people don't want and call it de_aztec_new or something like that...just have two versions in the Counter-Strike cache....one with the effects, one without.

It sounds simple to us, but the reason CS doesn't have stuff like that is because it confuses the masses, massively.

"Apparently they'll never stop, but let's just see how much of the community is stuck in the past anyway."

Stuck in the past? You are obviously under the impression that this game got all of it's steam and all of it's players over the course of the 1.4 "update" to the steam tragedy. Whether you like it or not is irrelevant, but the game did not become popular because of unbalanced weaponry and slow action. That is simply what it's become. Counter-Strike, at this point in time, is a self fulfilling prophesy. Counter-Strike became hugely popular (pre 1.0 for our wonderfully out of touch puffycloud), it sparked a professional community which attracted money. The more money put into counter-strike, via sponsorships and tournaments, attracts more and more players. This attracts more people and thus it's need for being a good game is replaced by a massive community and corporate sponsorship. There's nothing wrong with enjoying 1.6, however, there clearly is something wrong with using 1.6 in a professional atmosphere. The game is highly subjective, aka random, and slow. The subjective part is the reason for the shortening of the skill gap between novice, intermediate and expert players. While the experts are still the best, an intermediate with an ak can still kill an expert with a mp5. The slow part hampers what could be a very enjoyable spectator sport.

For those of you reading this, if you have not been part of a clan that has successfully completed a season of cal-m, that includes you puffy, you cannot consider yourself part of the intermediate group I outlined previously, and thus have no real say as to what should be included in a "pro-mode" because you simply do not apply.

Now that is one of the best ideas I have heard in a long time. Johnston, add it to dust2 tbh :o

I hope you can clarify what you're saying, because as I see it, you think there's a problem with one player being able to kill an expert player... In a game where the goal is to kill the other team's players...

Or you're trying to say that the game should switch to a skills/stats system that increases with use like most MMORPG's...

I don't want a pro-mode. Truth is, people in CAL and the CPL and what have you, started playing professionally because they like CS and they like to play it.

What could be really cool would be an Advanced CS Mod, where it's harder to aim, recoil is way higher, etc.. That way, after playing it until you're at the "Intermediate" level, and go and play regular CS 1.6 in a pub.. you could possibly be at an "Expert" level.

Like a sort of hardcore Counter-Strike training mod...
